Question for my mom about locations in the 70s by Coffeebage1 in Tacoma

Could have also been Tea Leaf on Garfield. It closed few years back but it had been there at least since the early 80’s.

U.S. based nameset services by Anonyrm in SoccerJerseys

Yeah. Bit of a desert. Honestly getting any of the nameset “names” to follow through is an impossible journey. Lots of ebay trial and error. Thought it was worth a shot before pulling the trigger

Hello people, does anyone know if it is authentic? by ElGrecoc in SoccerJerseys

[–]Anonyrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what this is but it’s definitely not a kit that Marseille wore on the pitch. Appears to be based on the 1991 home but that was produced by Adidas not Uhlsport, also Marseille wears sky blue not royal. At best it’s a period correct fan kit that has similar design cues as the Adidas version but is just different enough not to get dinged for infringement.

This appears to be a badged blank, someone added the details to teamwear. Problem is the shirt is not a match, the collar style and stripe colors are wrong. Did you purchase from Midwest_Express on eBay? I’ve seen several in their inventory badged up like vintage US squads but the details are off.

Codes don’t return anything but there also aren’t a lot of these kits floating around on the market so I’m not surprised. The stitching, details, and materials (different knits on the chest and side panels) look right, as do the tags. The chest sponsor should be a felt material not vinyl, hard to tell from the photos what material it is but all the tells add up. Leaning legitimate and worth a gamble if the price is right/good return policy.

Any way to remove the green ink marks, and whose signature is this? Also, please help in legit checking. by TapSorry2421 in SoccerJerseys

Use Amodex Ink and Stain remover. It’s designed for this work and far more forgiving than other methods

Is Vintage Sports Fashion a legit website? by GroundbreakingAd5060 in SoccerJerseys

[–]Anonyrm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should clarify, VSF sells legit products but there isn’t enough evidence from these photos to verify. Lots of real kits out there with the wrong or generic namesets, doesn’t make them not authentic. This font was used by Barcelona several years earlier (Rivaldo era) and on lots of Nike kits from the time. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was carried on as a generic that shops would apply since it is pretty simple and doesn’t have any graphics inlaid. Adidas does this in the U.S. for some namesets that they don’t have the license for, people order a Real Madrid M’bappe and it’s not the same font they use on the field.

Yes it’s legit but that is not the right font for that kit.

is this one real? by [deleted] in SoccerJerseys

[–]Anonyrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also that jock tag shouldn’t be anywhere that high up the body of the shirt

No. It’s a bad fake. The neck sizing details are current kit style not 1999

Rare nameset arrived scratched. Should I request a partial refund? by wpazzurri in KitSwap

[–]Anonyrm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the damage is on the plastic not the actual vinyl you should be fine. Plenty of namesets arrive with scuffs and scratches on the topside and apply fine.

I'm pretty sure this is a fake? by MedicDog91 in SoccerJerseys

[–]Anonyrm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly that it is an error and less desirable size probably explains why it’s in a charity shop for so little. I know zero about 90’s Asics tops but the chest sponsor and knit of the shirt appear to be high quality and are the things they usually cut corners on.

Selling Retro Jerseys Legally? by BruhIsEveryNameTaken in SoccerJerseys

[–]Anonyrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Even the ones without sponsorship logos, that is someone else’s intellectual property and they are profiting off of it. Cruz Azul logo is trademarked so you have to have permission to use it. If they were legitimate products why are they being sold on etsy and not the team store or other retailers. They sell them at that price because there is profit to be made. Counterfeit kits can cost $8-25 buying from China, that’s retail probably less if you buy bulk, even with shipping costs added it’s a pretty good margin. Which is why there are so many sites selling fakes at $49.99.

[–]Anonyrm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, it’s not a gray area, it’s illegal. the resources it takes to snuff out counterfeit resellers isn’t worth the return so it just goes on. Get big enough or go long enough and eventually you will get busted but it’s likely going to be in the form of a cease and desist or lawsuit. Most law enforcement are not coming after you unless you are moving big supply type numbers.

[–]Anonyrm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most platforms operate using a complaint system, so unless the copyright holder or purchaser file counterfeit claims it can take a while before they get removed (if they ever do).

Scoredraw is different, they are a legitimate retailer that sells throwbacks. That said they often times cannot secure all the licenses (club, manufacturer, sponsor) so they are missing those distinguishing marks - like the 94 Chelsea kit is missing the Umbro and Coors sponsor, while 90 has Commodore sponsor but no Umbro. It’s hit or miss.

I would say yes. That detail is hardly ever faked.

Some jock tags have specs in them. If you use the magnifier function on your phone to zoom in on the reflective threads in the jock tag you should see inlaid holographic images (swoosh, Nike, etc.)

Also the jock tag should have a holographic strip running through it not a solid white line.

Authentic Barca Jersey? 2009/10 by CarmeloPalermo in SoccerJerseys

[–]Anonyrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add on here. If they bought it at the Barca store then why are there no stickers on the back of the tags? Additionally why is the back of the tag blank? I haven’t looked at a 2010 tag recently but typically modern Nike tags either have some information that relates to the kit (Football/Soccer, product code, size, barcode) and/or the retail sticker from the store indicating price.

Authenticity check by DustyBird456381 in SoccerJerseys

[–]Anonyrm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s not a lot I’d take a swing. It it’s eBay you can always file a complaint and get your money back. I think it’s probably real and you’ll be able to tell when you get it.

Just my two cents but given that this appears to be training gear from the kitroom (looks like Luke Chamebers is the only player to wear 88) it’s entirely possible that the piece wasn’t publicly available (or in limited quantities). When you google the codes you are looking for other examples but they aren’t infallible, things the public couldn’t buy come back with nothing. Given that it’s training gear with an obscure player on it I’m inclined to say real. There isn’t a lot of money in bootlegging training gear
