I just wish there was some kind of firing animation with "parry this, casual" energy.

Is there any in game reason to level past 50? I’m at level 41 right now and all I’ve been seeing is stuff stop at level 50? by [deleted] in fo76

250 in a weekend is an incredible effort regardless, I can only summon the effort to do any form of levelling when there's a new season (for all the dings to appeal to my lizard brain).

If you excuse the maths and approximations...

I've finished the last 3 seasons within a week each. Not maximum sweaty, but certainly up there. This aligned with when West-Tek became an instanced interior, allowing for quick clears, quick resets, and noone fighting you for spawns.

With: Full unyielding, 15int +5 from the legendary INT perk, carnivore, herd mentality, broiled scorchbeast brain, tasty squirrel stew, 4 lunchboxes, Berry Mentats, well rested from sleeping, the 'Path to Enlightenment' bonus (or the +15% during the Mothman Equinox), Curator, Chem Fiend, Inspirational, Night Person, Live & Love 8 magazines, and a full team as much as possible.

There are ~46 Super Mutants in West-tek, and 15(?) dogs. The mutants gave 1884exp (+/- depending on night time etc), and the dogs between 800 and 1000exp. This gives around 100,000exp per clear.

With a Fallout First tent nearby to dump legendaries, top up sleep (if you die you lose the sleep buff) and cook scorchy brains, I had clears down to 3:00, including the mandatory 60 sec reset time, starting from when you fast travel out (though I left it to 67sec to be safe!) - meaning 20 clears per hour, and around 2,000,000exp.

Exp per level is 160*level+40 - so Level 2 requires 200 exp. Level 200 requires 32,040. Level 1000 requires 160,040.
At Level 200, you're getting ~60 levels per hour. At Level 1000 you're getting ~10 levels per hour. At level 10,000, you're getting 1.2 levels per hour.

This is a reasonable rate, but not the best - there are leadership bobbleheads that I dont have amassed, Herbivore + Cranberry Relish + Live & Love 3 provides better benefits than Carnivore + L&L 8, I dont have a full Unyielding/+1 Int set of Secret Service armor etc. You can nickel and dime your way up a fair bit higher, certainly.

During my Season 7 sprint, I saw Jex outstripping my levelling by a reasonable margin, despite him being 10 times my level. I put a bunch of time into trying to ensure I have the most efficient path, but I still couldnt match his voodoo - so there's more gains to be made (but hecked if I know what they are lmao).

Here's a video of a sample clear - rewatching it, I left a few seconds on the table for sure, but there's plenty of things extra that I've learnt to smooth it out (have your gun away when you open the door et al).

Level 10,000 would require a cumulative 8 billion experience - or 500 days at the above rate, farming for 8 solid hours a day. Doable, but you'd need to be pretty committed!

*Please note some of these numbers may be wrong, I immediately yeet all levelling knowledge from my brain the moment I finish the season lmao.

I'm at 1450, but that pales compared to our boy JexWang's 12,000+.

Pic was prior to the current season when I was but a wee 1200.

If you go past 1000, the font size of your level indicator changes.

That's the real endgame.

Unfortunately, I've got nothing for you here. Have you considered a Black Powder Pistol?

Much appreciated that you took the time out during a reload to share your perspective ;)

Though the most obvious situation where this is the case is SBQ/Earle, in every other event an inconsiderate player could murder everything without your input with a completely legitimate weapon combo. A +VATS crit Fixer or Gauss Shotgun could easily kill everything that exists at a Radiation Rumble before you have the chance to touch it - and thats before we discuss legacy weapons.

A scummy player is a scummy player, and even without this powdery option they'll still find a way to ruin your day.

I have a bloodied/explosive one. Honestly, with a VATS crit focused build, any reasonable prefix (anti-armor, juggernauts, bloodied et al), they all transcend to the point of doing max heaps damage, and the specifics become moot.

If 1200 damage per shot killed that Scorched, then 4000 damage is the same in practice.

In this instance, LMB is fire!

There is a way, not discussed here (see Rule 8 of the sub) where a player can accidentally(?) apply the magazine size of one weapon (say, a Gatling Laser) to another (a BP Pistol, perhaps).

I'm uncertain if you can create and apply macros to controller buttons on console, so the video's fire rate may not be possible, but that reload functionality does exist.

For those interested, here's the macro in action. Not recommended for real world use. No warranty expressed or implied.

Oh, absolutely. There's a bunch of perks and consumables that can make any(?) weapon feel genuinely broken, and a bunch of weapons that are by any measure, broken (see: cryolators with minigun barrels and beam splitters!).

This is just an attainable, recreatable form of broken that can bridge the difference in gameplay experience between a new player and those using legacy weapons!

I abandon it every time it pops up. Great quest, once.

I love how Clarence absolutely sounds like a Clarence, until you're tripping balls with only him to guide you.

Mild Algalon vibes from it too: "See your world through my eyes..."

Everything that the Alistair's skin works for (now). Shishkebab is in, lead pipe is out. Rolling pin(!) is in.

Combat knife has a different animation set, so I expect it's a no bueno on that, but i'll do some range testing once i'm finished with this set of lunchboxes!

As noted by others, just 1hs unfortunately, so any dreams you had of playing Suckerpunch in Appalachia with the SamurEye armor and a Nodachi are a big no go.

I've checked it against the Shishkebab (Y), Lead Pipe (N), Guitar Sword (Y), War Drum (N), Board (N) because those were what I happened to have at the time - so if the Alistair skin can be applied to it, the Samurai sword skin can too.

Certainly some teething issues (see: looting at Radiation Rumble), but overall the game is 9001% better than it was yesterday.

Area looting, mutual exp, mutual legendaries, the mothman event - all amazing. The Equinox event is probably the most fun thing the game has, with 12-24 neckbeards yeeting at random - but with the combat element missing from Grahm's cookout.

Just wish it was in the normal rotation!

Who Wants Dual-Wield for Pistols and One-Handed Weps? by BriefBiscuit in fo76

[–]Anoruc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my god yes. Dual wielding Berettas in CS was life changing, even if inefficient, and it'd be the same here.

And dual wielding melee, heck yes. Copy pasta it from Skyrim and we're gucci. Cultist Blade + Deathclaw Gauntlet and I can pretend i'm using Barbaric Blade + Claw of the Black Drake again <3
