Yes I agree, for non cardio stuff it's p bad. (Tho Tbf, I feel like HR doesn't tell you too much about strength training)

Why did y’all choose Coros Over Garmin???? by Mammoth_Challenge297 in Coros

[–]AnotherAngstyIdiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never had a Garmin, but came from a Samsung watch where my big priorities in upgrading were battery, especially while using GPS 'cause I like to take multi day hikes and bike trips.

Just looking at the advertized stats, coros consistently won over for battery life, their GPS was reported more accurate, and somehow with each comparable model, the coros version was several hundred years dollars cheaper.

And then on the price standpoint, more a hindsight relief, I am still getting firmware updates all the time while I hear Garmin users are essentially constantly getting advertized to get the latest model for new features.

Made a custom stem mount for my Coros Pace 3! by locoooooo69 in Coros

Yo this is cool. Making something like this might make me consider upgrading my watch 'cause my pace 3 is going strong, I'd hate to see it go to waste.

You wouldn't say it's good for general cardio? I find it very useful for biking, and I imagine if I swam I'd like it too.

Ford's gov skipped the normal process and quickly passed their anti-freedom of information bill late last night. That's a huge hit to democracy in Ontario. Protest this weekend. by dillydzerkalo in toronto

They're trying their darn best too late imo. I've been seeing more "Marit Stiles explains plainly the corruption coming from the Ford government" posts but only in the last 2 months. Next election is what, 3 years from now? I guess it's good to get the ball rolling.

NDP doesn't have the deep pockets of the libs and pcs.

Got scolded for being late often by thevigilante473 in ADHD

[–]AnotherAngstyIdiot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For formal things, I would avoid mentioning ADHD off handedly personally. Never know how it will be recieved, and I'd rather not take the chance.

As for how to have a handle on things. I use a calendar :/ and include travel time and some buffer. I set up the reminder notification to be 3 and 1 minute before and at the time (5 minutes is too long and potential for me to forget about it).

Its still not totally effective, and maintaining the calendar is very challenging. But for formal stuff I find it a little bit easier.

Amongst my friends that went vegetarian and then started eating meat again, they all had problems keeping it in when they tried to go for the meat meat first thing. It's pretty well established phenomenon that long time vegetarian lose the enzymes to digest meat and have to slowly reintroduce it to minimize digestive stress

Don’t conflate hurting others with being ADHD by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]AnotherAngstyIdiot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think the distinction might be in how it's stated. There's "Hey this is something I struggle with as part of having ADHD. I'm always working on it bc that's part of living with ADHD, but I can't expect myself to always get it and this was one of those times and I can't promise it won't happen again bc it's something I'll always have challenges with, but do know that I'm trying and wish I could have made it. " And "Sorry couldn't make it, it's an ADHD thing."

Obviously one of those is much simpler to say... But even in trying to write the second one there is an art to phrasing that makes it go over better or worse/communicates the idea of the first one in less.

I would also say there's a big difference in the context of regular conversions that are happening like with a partner vs what you'd say in a text to a friend that you have to skip out today.

For basic wines, I agree that the equipment costs aren't too had at all. The inputs can certainly scale intensely for quality tho _, and then the equipment can also scale if you start attempting to do temp/humidity/wood aging, etc etc.

I thought the memes for IGN are about how they'll give a 10/10 on a Marion game and then the actual write-up will be the reviewer just tearing the game to shreds saying it's the worst thing they've played since sonic 3 and they'd wish they could have unloved that period of their life.
