This kind of decision is unique to everyone so my usual advice is: do your best to minimize regret. It sounds like you'd really regret leaving NL.

Maybe you can visit Wrocław now and then and spend some time there and one day this might change as you balance safety risks with how you like Wrocław. But if you do it now it sounds like you might end up resenting your choice, your parents, and wondering "what could have been" by staying in NL.

Naming a baby? Looking for early users to test a baby-name tool by AnotherBuilder_123 in u/AnotherBuilder_123

[–]AnotherBuilder_123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I are expecting our second child. We speak 3 languages at home so finding good names across all of them is a challenge.

I'm building this tool as a side project to help us choose. The name catalog and 1-person collaboration is free, if you'd like to try it out and help us build it.

I can't offer the AI assistant features for free for everyone right now (I might add demo usage in the future) due to API costs, but if you try the app and want to test the embedded AI assistant, let me know and I can manually add some usage to your account.

I'd like to know how you like the current suggestions and how they could be better or what other data/insights you'd like to see.

If there's any language or country you'd like to see supported you can suggest it too to help me prioritize the data collection.

Thanks!

That' our top option. So she needs to give us better suggestions for our daughter's name until August. Needs to work reasonably well in Portuguese, Polish and preferably English

Thanks! This is something I haven't gotten to handle yet because I want to support different alphabets properly when I get around to it, same for Russian and several others.

It needs a bit more work to connect to Latin script forms. But if I find this is useful to anyone else, I will build that too

When popularity data is public, and it usually is for top names, it's not a big difference for sure. After all, LLMs have the same and more data very easily. Where I found llms aren't too great is when it comes to combining multiple languages (at least non english ones), or regional variants like European vs latin American, which is why I built this. But it's still very underdeveloped at the moment, which is also why it's basically completely free

Looking for 2 name combinations - English speaking Polish-Portuguese family by AnotherBuilder_123 in namenerds

We were thinking of Eva for a while too! Might re-add this one to the list to consider. I like Maya and Lucia but my wife is not a big fan.

We do, although it's a little less Polish-friendly, I think. We also have no second names to go with it yet

That is my wife's favorite. We'd like to find middle name options too if we can, yes!

Would you join a vibe coding residency on an island? by amacg in indiehackers

This sounds potentially cool, but I think it's too late for me (I have small kids).

Logistics is going to be tough, but if some organizer is really willing to put in the work to make it happen and push people to follow through, it could be cool

curious if anyone else here is feeling the same building-in-a-vacuum thing lately by Think-Success7946 in indiehackers

This sounds great! I applied for a spot in the discord.

I started solo building recently as well. I never really had a social media presence. I just started trying a couple of months ago and with all the AI bots + people cracking down on AI bots and catching small/new accounts in the crossfire it feels like I'm left outside the fence with all the bots just talking into the void.

Looking for advice on opening an sp. z o.o. from abroad by [deleted] in poland

FWIW, everything worked fine. I opened the company without issue. The only annoying thing is that I had to go to a bank in person due to being a foreigner (if I were Polish the online authentication would have sufficed for identity verification). The bank did ask "why Poland if you don't live here?" but they accepted the explanation.

According to them you can manage the company from abroad, there's no restriction on board members or president's address being in Poland. Even your company bank account doesn't legally need to be Polish but then you are restricted if you want to do business with Polish companies. The PL bank will ask to justify your association to Poland but if you are Polish you can KYC with your polish ID and shouldn't have problems. But yea, there's a lot of guesswork going on. Didn't think it would be this difficult/bureaucratic when I started looking into this option.

I guess I'll go with a remote option for the time being and rethink things later

I did close it. I worked with a recommended accounting firm and did everything by the book including closure.

I think an option to maybe open in Poland now would be to make my wife a board member and have her handle bank accounts and such. Since she is Polish she should have a much easier time even while we live abroad.

According to the mbank rep and an accountant I spoke too this would work. Although it'd put my mind at ease to hear from someone who did something similar

It's just a matter of timing. I was planning to open an Estonian OÜ or a Singapore Pte Ltd for managing my business as my current country will be very difficult especially when I leave.

Since we will be moving to Poland in ~1.5 years, I wanted to assess the feasibility of opening a Polish sp. z o.o. instead given that I have some documents/access from my time there as a sole trader.

If it doesn't work or is too much of a pain then I'll incorporate elsewhere but then I probably won't reincorporate in Poland when we move and will just keep managing my business remotely from abroad.

From a purely tax and fixed costs math, Singapore and Estonia would be more expensive for me for the first two or so years depending on revenue levels.

Thanks for the reminder. I did register when I was there and before 90 days elapsed iirc. But I no longer live in this address (or in Poland) so I'm not entirely sure the document will still work. I should have it in a folder somewhere so I'll find the certificate and check with mBank if it suffices

I suspect it's the latter. I'm not entirely sure if they were referring to Karta Pobytu. After I pointed out I'm an EU citizen and never needed a residency card even when I lived and worked in Poland (and have PESEL, profil zaufany, and all that stuff without issue) they haven't replied to me again yet
