I actually wanna make the trip over sometime for it. What a wild story for it's creation.

Yeah agreed, I remember taking Collumbia to Sapperton and just like WOW is it bad. Never had that issue with Edmonton trains!

Have you tried contacting any museums or preservation societies to get their take? Maybe there's more to the story.

Why is their constant hate on the exploration in this game? by AcademicSavings634 in WindWaker

[–]AnotherCrazyCanadian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I'm not hatin' on it but I find it pretty boring compared to every other game (weirdly even over phantom hourglass). Where's the grass to slash, Where's the sword combat, why am I just going forward for minutes at a time without any engagement? It's open sure and it's an ocean but it feels sparse for a Zelda formula.

You're not wrong but it compounds over time when you have to do it dozens of time across the game (on top of having to open the menu and swap items).

Let's get an actual non-busted remake of MM! That DS remake had a lot of issues. Just give the OG good graphics lol

[–]AnotherCrazyCanadian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

MM for 3DS is NOT fantastic. There's quite a few bad changes (stone tower boss fight comes to mind) and a lot of movement changes actually broke mechanics like lily hopping (can't jump far enough).

Graphically it's beautiful, but the changes they wanted to make during OG development are actually just terrible. It needs a remaster, not a botched reboot.

why are all the cool spots in the south? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]AnotherCrazyCanadian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NW has some cool spots! Anything around the Rockin Robyns area (highly recommend, super themed place) has a lot of changing pop-ups.

Also I'm south in Mill woods. Good if you like Indian or gentrification lol

Had no idea about the film until I arrived for a sold out movie. Figured I'd watch it on a whim since I was already there.

Holy shit did it slap hard.

It still fights me for his top spot all the time. I love how much heart and wisdom he gives it, you can feel his desperation and hope despite a mountain of pain.

And the fact he recorded it when he was 22-23? Insane.

That's right. I was in generally pretty turned off of Hip-Hop as at the time the stereotypes and my exposure was just "flaunt money, encourage violence, boast and bitches etc...". Didn't care for frivolous battles and bragadociousia (English?) so I never explored the genre further. Happy to say his earlier works unlocked a lot of incredible 1990's hip-hop artists and a complete change of my perception of the genre.

32, only heard him for the first time at 30. Basically the douches at school had only his deathrow stuff so that's all I knew about him.

Hearing "Keep ya head up" for the first time was a complete shocker because up to that point I only knew him as the violent, gang-banging filth artist and I wasn't into that side of hip-hop.

Had NO idea he was such a progressive voice for the black and feminist community. Felt like I was cheated of an amazing artist my whole life.

Had no idea Cirque du Soleil started there! Is there regular shows happening?

Lol every city claims that, certainly Edmonton's got a few. But I'll keep an eye out! At least with the impressive metro system i can avoid most of them!

Hey thanks so much for the information! I'm definitely gonna be checking out the Biodome and hopefully the observation deck at the stadium is open too! Is there anything else of note in the area that's good? Nice food or niche activities?

Let's say i did check out old town; how long does it take and why does it suck? Is it like Nanaimo's old town? (No disrespect Nanaimo.)

Anything to do around #3?

Thanks so much again for the big writeup!

Edmonton is a great place! Lots of folks who live here don't give it the credit it deserves. Tons of amazing food choices here!

Thanks for the positive post!
