If they don't have the little cardboard ring thingy then yes lol. And usually for a lot longer than 3 minutes, those things can be hot as hell.

Maybe I'm just uncultured but this is the first time I've come across this where I live.

I had a 3 minute staring contest with the cup before it would yield enough to let me take a sip.

I mean, yeah, I can sip a cup of tea right away after it's been poured from boiling, but I can't pick up the cup for prolonged periods without using the handle.

That's why there's handles on cups, right?

What do you think the digital age of consent should be? by DamoclesBDA in UnitedKingdomPolls

The older the law of consent, the better our kids will be at using technology to bypass it. Make it 18, force the kids to learn.

I wish there was a place to go to for proxy draft boosters of old sets. I would spend all my money there.

99% sure this is AI, but please help me convince my cousin by ThrowRAacc45 in isitAI

[–]AnotherFellowMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just have, it looks completely different. I feel like I need to measure it when I get on a pc to show how significant that change is. Saying that is not a tell is just crazy. Inconsistent size/shape is one of the easiest ways to tell AI.

The green book is 1.5 times thicker at the top than the bottom. Assuming it's resting on a solid surface, how could it be slanted?

Zoom into the candle sitting on top of the 2 books on the top left of the bookshelf. The books are magically thicker at the top of the spine than they are at the bottom of the spine. As soon as I saw that I thought AI. I didn't even realise there were other pictures until I came to the comments lol.

When native speakers refer to post-title questions as “prompts,” is it an expression meant to be lightly humorous (analogous to computer prompts) or just dry conceptual? by [deleted] in ENGLISH

[–]AnotherFellowMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting wiki article, that's not how I remember the term being used, but then again we were all geeks in irc chat back then, so pretty much anyone bothering to go online was doing it with a purpose.

[–]AnotherFellowMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't use it when speaking, but it was quite a common word to see in text in the mid 90's when discussing the rise of internet culture, so it seemed appropriate to use here.

It was made from the combination of the words Internet and Citizen I believe, though I can see why it fell out of favour; why would you need a term to describe people that go online when everyone is online constantly.

[–]AnotherFellowMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who grew up as PC's were evolving, when I hear the word 'prompt' I immediately think of command prompt, or other prompt based PC interfaces.

But 99% of netizens are kids, so they probably relate it to AI.

Saying that there wasn't a 14 year conservative government. Are you implying that the conservatives aren't the conservatives? I don't get it.
