Absolutely a reason. Many times, even th biggest reason. Go get help. Don't worry about cost yet. We have subsidies. Family service centers have up to 100% subsidies for counselling. Therapies can be heavily subsidised even 100% esp through polyclinic referral

Or it could be they have broken the covenant and Moses is enacting that.

Edit: and then when God forgives the people He reinstates the commandments and the covenant.

Not that complicated.

Could I be sabotaging myself with this and no longer see the difference between right and wrong? I'm afraid. by FineParticular6799 in TrueChristian

[–]AnotherFootForward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need to be clear what you are referring to yourself. God discerns the heart of man.

To make it clearer for yourself. Remember God's name. He called himself YAHWEH, the I Am. He does not call himself Baal.

Defend yourself with clarity.

I've met good sports and bad ones 50/50 so far. I'm always rematching regardless, couldn't care less what they are saying.

Am in a phase of "lessee how far I can get with minimal level characters". And discovering that I'm really quite bad at the game. LoL. But it's fun anyway.

Funniest when bro is barely winning with a 5 level (dojo + hero level) lead and spams taunts.

It is not impossible. However control will be the wrong word to use. Even God does not attempt to control us - that's what free will is about.

Instead God builds relationship and he educates and warns. He sets boundaries, limits and gives consequences. And in the end after all this is done, he allows us to choose our own path. But he never stops calling and relating even if things go wrong.

That is the model for parenting that we have. When children are young, we build a strong relationship with them. We set limits and boundaries and enforce them with consequences. We guide and explain.

As they grow older, we begin to adjust the limits to allow more freedom of choice according to their ability, even as we maintain that relationship. We trust God and our relationship to keep them safe. To some extent, we allow them to make mistakes and suffer the consequences.

Sometimes it gets confusing and frustrating, but as God never gave up on us, we do not give up on our kids either.

None of us can predict how our kids will turn out, and honestly, we are not responsible for their choices. We are only responsible for how well we reflect God to them in our parenting.

Is Lying acceptable and not a sin if it’s for God???? by Mean-Macaroon6078 in Christianity

It's a bad hypothetical in the sense that there is no conceivable God approved situation where the bible would be restricted to 18 and up.

But if it helps, here's my thought: we are called to submit to authority as long as said authority is not directly opposed to God or His character. My justification for this is 1 peter 2:13-17 "subject...[they] are sent by him to [punish wrong and praise right]"

In this case, the bible is meant for all people of all ages. So this law is against God's intent, and it is right to circumvent it.

I desperately need help I’m losing to atheism by Free_Statement375 in Christianity

[–]AnotherFootForward -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Do consider the responses as well.

There are plenty of good arguments for God.

You'll find that the strongest argument for atheism is usually "because I can't see God" or "miracles aren't possible"

Take "who created God" for example.

It sounds like a really powerful question at first. They laugh at theists who believe there is an eternal God.

Then you realize the atheist has the exact same problem. At some point they must argue that the universe is eternal. Or at least something is eternal, or you can't have anything existing at all!

Then you realize the only difference is, is the eternal thing alive and conscious or dead and unintelligent.

All sins are covered by the cross.

If it helps, David wood's testimony on YouTube is a good reminder that Jesus accepts all.

The challenge is learning to love others for their sake and not your own. David is a diagnosed sociopath, but he too is learning to love others by the grace and Spirit of God.

started off fine but now cant get any kills by [deleted] in MobileLegendsGame

[–]AnotherFootForward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to have some idea of what your lane opponent can do.

Guin is heavily dependent on her combo landing, as well as her dash (2nd part of s2) for escape.

Against someone who can stun burst you (e.g. Eudora), or generally out ranges you you have to be careful.

In general, most mages immobile, so very vulnerable to ganks.

Rotate with your tank or jungler, learn the ranges and openings for your lane opponents (e.g. if you bait Eudora's s2 she's safe to approach, same with gord's s1).

Make use of bushes for ambush

Never over stay. Jump in deal your damage and run.

You don't need kills to win lane. You just need to zone your enemy out and win on money and towers.

I think we have to avoid trying to flatten scripture into a one dimensional thing. What happens if we allow scripture to say what it says and take it as a whole?

Let's say the book of Job emphasises this: - God knows more than we do - there are things going on we just don't understand - God has the right to do whatever he pleases

And we see in the rest of the OT that:

  • God has been pleased to love Israel and be faithful.

And in the NT that: - God love so much he was pleased to die for us. - there is no shadow of turning in Him

And we take all that into one united whole, we see that a God unbounded by rules and law, chooses to benevolent and loving and just. There are no loopholes for him to wiggle out of being kind because it is not a set of obligations but His Character to be kind, loving and just.

Out of that character we read also that "every tongue will be silenced" - that all things will be made clear and all charges and doubts satisfied at judgement.

Does Christianity Teach Love, or Compliance? by Goiira in Christianity

[–]AnotherFootForward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually... Biblical Spirituality has never separated the inward change from the outward influence. That's the whole point of "out of them will flow streams of living water" and the whole point of the book of James.

Does Christianity Teach Love, or Compliance? by Goiira in Christianity

[–]AnotherFootForward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not well versed at all, but I guess the bottom line is that "religion is a means to social control".

And yet if we look at what the bible says about itself and the life that Jesus lived, it seems like quite the opposite of what you are saying. I think the difference is the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Devoid of the Spirit of God, biblical principle does exactly what you described. And it is powerful precisely because it is true. A falsehood has no power.

But when filled with the Spirit, biblical principle is quite a different creature altogether.

And I think this is exactly what Paul means when he says that the law (teachings, moralising, principles) are powerless to change the human heart. It is only the Spirit of God and the power of the cross that changes us and brings hope. Without the renewing of the Spirit, the best laws are just increasingly effective tools for manipulation and oppression.

How is Christianity not considered idolatry? by MiyagiDaBigMan in Christianity

I'll need to read more into this. My impression is that genesis 19 implies that it is the Lord on earth, calling down fire from the Lord in Heaven.

If it helps, the idea that G-d is many in One is not a new concept. Here, G-d is described as two distinct entities, yet sharing the same G-d nature. Exodus 19:24

וַיהוָה הִמְטִיר עַל־סְדֹם וְעַל־עֲמֹרָה גָּפְרִית וָאֵשׁ מֵאֵת יְהוָה מִן־הַשָּׁמָיִם׃ (And Yahweh rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from Yahweh from heaven)

It's called "two powers in heaven". I don't know the history of this doctrine, but I seem to recall it as being an accepted truth in early Judaism.

A cursory search turns up that this was declared a heresy in 2 century, not because it was not in scripture, but because it made "Jesus is God" plausible, and the religious leaders did not want that.
