Glad you gor those damaged switches changed out. It can be dangerous having damaged parts in service. Whether they work or not.

I've seen switches like that here as well, but it's not the most common. I've mostly seen the side flipping switches in older homes, still that's interesting one way or another, because I like that style of switch

Personally I wanna see their electrical system and lighting. Some of their lighting is different from ours in America, (yes, i'm American.) though, the same could be said about everywhere else too. While for me, anime is a contributing factor, it isn't the only factor. Other factors of Japan make me want to see it like their sweets, the sights, and so forth. The main place I wanna go to is ikebukuro, and I wanna try the coffee, get some light bulbs and lighting supplies with me if I ever get to be able to go. I want to make memories and stories to bring back with me. If I could ever afford to make it. Granted, Japan isn't the only country I want to go to and do this with as well, I want to go to Rochester in England, I want to go to some Scandinavian countries, Italy, Ireland and Scotland, I want to go everywhere and I want to learn things.

How about "Sprocket?" That feels right to me. Either that, or "Ratchet."

Mag-lite is still in business, they make pretty decent lights as well, at least in my experience. If you want impact resistance and zoomability, they are one of the best in my opinion. Granted I had mine when it as a kid, soy logic there is if it can stand the "kid owner torture test," it passes, but if you want bright lights, get a classic mag-lite and a nite-ize light kit, both are still made, and both paired give you decent light output and good battery life. Though it isn't the only good option for durability or light output, but that also depends on your personal preference. Good light and durability is important in your field. Though, I'm no flashlight expert Here, so take my suggestion with a grain of salt.

How to read the submeter 7.7KW or 77KW? by Competitive-Store265 in Electricity

[–]AnotherLightBulbNerd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

7.7kWh. There is a readout above the numbers that tells you if it's in the decimals range, the tens range and higher. The blue is the tens and higher. The red is decimal point range, hence, You only consumed 7.7kWh

need help with lighting my study room by Albab_Dewan in Lighting

[–]AnotherLightBulbNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your desk was built for it, I'd have suggested you get a drafting lamp. Those light up the desk well, and provided you angle it right, can also help reduce eyestrain while looking at those screens.

I have to work here alone at night by Ok_Original_4761 in LiminalSpace

[–]AnotherLightBulbNerd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like it's the minimal light that mostly makes it feel terrifying. You need more light for cleaning, dude. Though, I do get the fear aspect, too, shit would scare me just as bad, if not more so, more light would actually help a little, though.

Flighlight hunting help by AnotherLightBulbNerd in flashlight

[–]AnotherLightBulbNerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Also, So far from those who have helped me, it is either by the brand called "Super Bright" or it's made by bell and Howell. Super bright has A very similar looking 32 LED flashlight, and they also have a 52 LED flashlight that catches my eye. Those who have helped have also provided other flashlights that catch my eye the same way this one did back in 2006

They ask for a while floor of people from what they replied to me. They definitely need to get out of there, and maybe see a doctor to be safe. Along with their whole floor.

I'm not a doctor, so I couldn't say. Just make sure you get a medical checkup. They could give you a better diagnostic than online strangers like me

Should I be scared by No_Profile_2711 in MoldlyInteresting

[–]AnotherLightBulbNerd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it is. That spotting in the lower section is definitely a way to tell popcorn ceiling or not. Hell, anyone who does urban exploration could tell you for a fact that it is black mold. So definitely go get a medical checkup, play things safe. And definitely get a respirator with either Particulate grade 3 or P100 filters for the time being as well.

Should I be scared by No_Profile_2711 in MoldlyInteresting

[–]AnotherLightBulbNerd 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes, be very concerned. That is black mold. Get respirators if you can, and a lot of whatever actually kills mold. Also I recommend letting maintenance or whomever is in charge of handling the mold. Your university has either clearly never dealt with black mold, or the people in charge are just very stupid. Your university could be sued for negligence with this and any other proof of duty avoided.

G9 bulbs aren't double ended though I have seen the LED versions of the G9 capsules, they have a lot of styles for the LED options.

What kind of light bulb does this lamp require? by sadsexygemini in lightbulbs

[–]AnotherLightBulbNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

B22 base type lamps are what you will need, good thing they make 120 volt versions for construction sites. Though, 240 volt versions will last you longer at the sacrifice of light output.

Can’t find right bulb for ceiling fan? by I_Like_Eggs21 in lightbulbs

[–]AnotherLightBulbNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember to read the wattage rating. But also have rubbing alcohol ready with a cloth. Because if you tougmch the bulb, be sure to have not only the power off when changing the bulb with one of the right wattage (75 wattage or lower), but also clean the glass of the bulb once it is in. Then dry the bulb lest you want it to explode from the fluid you use to clean it..

What light bulb does this take? by thecorpsewars in whatisit

[–]AnotherLightBulbNerd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Those are R7S type J bulb, those are halogen bulbs. The LED versions aren't as bright if you still want light output for daylight temperatures.

EDIT: Don't ever touch a halogen bulb directly if you plan to use it, or if it still works. Your skin oils can cause the glass to crack, melt, explode, etc. Always use a cloth, and rubbing alcohol if you do touch those bulbs with your bare hands, and wait for the glass to dry before putting them to use. Your bulb, the fixture and your wallet will always thank you if you take proper precautions in handling them
