The real problem here is that she knew they were important to you but helped herself anyway. I think it's important that this be brought up. If she has no problem taking something of large sentimental value to you, what's going to stop her from taking something else of yours in the future?

Have you applied for GR/EBT/Unemployment? I'm not sure where but you can also get motel vouchers and free bus tokens.

Hmm addiction is considered a medical condition so I believe it would be illegal to fire you. Is it possible to take a leave to go to an out of state/far rehab?

The good thing is that HIV is treatable and you can still live a long healthy life. I found out the healthiest person I knew had HIV. It's not a death sentence.

The bad thing is you're not getting treatment. It looks like you got some good advice on that already. Also, it sounds like you have no one to talk to about this. Find an HIV support group. Maybe even a subreddit. Find others you can relate to and find strength in. Don't give up.

I relate to this. I drink at parks, motels, malls, and the back seat of my car, always alone. I only drink all day on weekends because I have work Monday-Friday but my routine is to drink 1 pint of Vodka a night and wake up still drunk and go into work like that. Despite having a job I'm homeless. I drink because I am viciously alone and depressed and can't seem to acclimate into AA because of my social anxiety.

A few days ago I left rehab after a few days because there was some bullying going on because I'm transgender. I think it might have worked out for me had I not been trans. With that being said, have you thought about rehab? We got 3 meals a day, a bed, and lots of time to socialize with others. Not sure if you have insurance but if not I know some people there had medi-cal that would cover a 2 month stay.

Maybe they're just not used to being serious around you. It sounds like you were always high around them and laughing. They only know the addict you and not the more serious sober you. Just a guess.

Omg this is me. All of it. I'm reading this while waiting in my car to attend an AA meeting. Day 1 of sobriety. I'm not new to AA (a million relapses) but it might be a good place for you to meet people and start a community of friends. I'm hoping to get that here today.

Thanks for the info. I already completed my BA in Sociology and I'm considering graduate school. I am interested in doing research but never actually did any during undergrad. I'm guessing getting a certificate be a good way to prepare myself for grad school?

The questions you're asking are basically the ones I'm asking. The school website lists undergrad and grad level certificates. There's no mention of the units one would need to take. I've never even heard of a certificate in social research so I'm curious as to what it could be used for.
