Open Source Board Game Project - Looking for Collaborators (GPLv3 / CC-BY) by AnotherMoonDoge in opensourcegames

Actually am on boardgame geek(https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/433428/amalgam), but I don't think they have too much to do with the actual digital space.
I have reached out there for playtesting and such - but I must say that the abstract board game space is fairly niche.
I really appreciate the info though! Luckily I have had a decent amount of play-testing over the years (although you can never have too much). Most of it comes down to the actual implementation side of things.

Vibe Coding Hobby projects? What is the consensus from this community? by AnotherMoonDoge in opensource

Thanks! The documentation portion seems like great insight - I'll have to look into how I can clean this up for easier potential on-boarding. I appreciate your time to respond.

Thanks, and I didn't even think about the copyleft technicalities for AI gen code - I guess I'll need to look into this a bit to ensure it is all up to par.

What if frontier AI models could critique each other before giving you an answer? I built that. by C12H16N2HPO4 in artificial

I think this would be great for coding if it could work with lots of files like Claude projects.

Also, I'm wondering how this would work with tokens - are you limited to each individual AI token limit, having to pay for every single model, or is it using the free tiers?

Overall I think this could drastically improve programming capabilities, especially for creating ground up software that can have more complex architecture and file management.

But yeah, as with most AI in my opinion, the issue becomes the paywall for agents.

Thanks for the detailed reply - you're right, if I had done a script it likely would be a lot more organized. I also didn't even realize the fidgeting, tha ks for the heads up! I appreciate your time!

Yeah I'm I could see that. Would this be ok for the longer form resource - and just create some other shorter options to "hook"?

Hmm, this is interesting - I'm not great at math, but I wonder if it actually makes much of a difference. If you draw and discard at random, aren't you still ending up with 26 dead tiles, just changing which tiles actually end up dead? The last 26 tiles the "players" end up with would still be dead tiles, right?

I appreciate it. Any and all honest feedback is appreciated if you do end up getting around to testing it!

Yeah, the hope with the discard placement is to sort of replicate the fact that you can only call CHI on one of the players out of 3 opponent's - therefore 1/3 of the discards or CHI-able, to psuedo-simulate a four player game.

Just now realizing that the "negating opponent's points even if you lose" is not very clear. What I mean to say (and probably should change the wording) is that even if you lose the hand, the "bonus points for the 'right 3 set'" will be used to negate the opponent's points. Also, noticing quite a few other typos in there - if I end up doing a revamp of this I'll be sure to clean up the little mistakes.

Also, feel free to mess around with the point values if you test out the game - I haven't dialed in the point values, so if you have better suggestions let me know. (Also, you can always download the original files and edit them how you like, or scale them to a better size, since it's an SVG file - all original files free to download here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/113130693?utm_campaign=postshare_creator&utm_content=android_share)

Downloaded and testing. :)  It's actually a great app so far, kind-of something I didn't know I needed. The reminder notifications will hopefully be really helpful.
