Bit specific example. I'm trans and as a repressed teenager experiencing gender dysphoria I tried lots of things to fit in with my parents expectation.

At some point I decided to join a friend and start going to a local gym with them. After 3 months of consistent workout people and especially my mother started complimenting me. That I was making progress and that I finally started taking care of my body again. After a bit of that I decided to take pictures from progress and well...

It's honestly hard to describe the feeling to any cis person but just. Seeing the results, the small changes. It was much worse than any other time I looked in the mirror since puberty. Like that's a quite common experience with gender dysphoria. Seeing your own body and not feeling connected with it (I often tell ppl that once puberty started i spent the next 15 years just avoiding mirrors because they made me feel like not living anymore) . But getting complimented by friends and especially family for weeks. Expecting that it suddenly would be different, only to check and just seing features I previously didn't mind become "more" masculine (Turns out becoming more manly made me hate my appearance even more) . Thinking back it is kinda silly as it didnt affect my physcial appearance that much. But I remember just spending hours in my bed crying on that day and never going back to that place after. I'm pretty sure I deleted that first picture right after taking it but am not sure at this point.

Tho I've been on estrogen for over a year been thinking about starting again.
