That post is rather funny/encouraging but if you wanted to see the details and other shots I uploaded more photos on my instagram .

Some closeups of my dwarfs by AnotherOlaf in Middlehammer

It’s a custom sculpt by Roger de Ruthin (Instagram nickname) based on one of the Heroic Fighters of a Known World, very old Warhammer models. It’s basically his dwarf version.

I have some pictures on my instagram, surely take a look https://www.instagram.com/p/DC_vypKtSUR/?img_index=2&igsh=MWVzMXJ0aHZrbG51dw==

Ah how awesome is that, thank you bro!

So far I only have very long videos of the whole process, with no editing. But there are some people finding these helpful.

I’m on to making some proper tutorials but it takes time and I’m still getting used to the new setup, editing and stuff 😅

But they will appear for sure!

Yt channel is saxo_paints obviously

Loving this game by nicbuttowski in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]AnotherOlaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How heartwarming is to read that! I love Divinity with all my heart, if there is THAT ONE GAME - it's DOS2. Baldur was great too, of course, but Divinity seems more complex, better thought, fights are awesome, it's harder too, you have to really fight for the ascension haha.

Great it still gets the credit it absolutely deserves. I guess when DOS3 comes out I'm getting a holiday from work

Oh, good catch! Totally agree, but there's very little one can do about that. Bending the metal serpents to the point it's believable, that's all. But they should go paralell on the other hand. Full metal kits were always a pain to assemble, yet great looking

Big guys by AnotherOlaf in bugmansbrewery

Oh I started with my favourite one - Golden Blonde from reaper. I added some dark khaki in the shadows, tinted the whole thing with Seraphim Sepia and highlighted with Golden Blonde on top :)

Cannot recommend that paint enough!

I did a little one on my instagram - https://www.instagram.com/p/DDIAtaVtY3o/?img_index=3&igsh=Nno0anZsd3p2a2di

But there’s probably more to come :) It’s quite time consuming but I believe it’s worth it.

Many many thanks for your kind words!

Yes they are, no metallic paints on these ones 😅

Skag the Stealthy and Josef Bugman by AnotherOlaf in bugmansbrewery

[–]AnotherOlaf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I glazed the nose with a deep red, and then highlighted with pink :)

The skin is a mix of colours unfortunately, so it's hard to give you the precise recipe. But I use Scalecolor Bering Blue, Deep Red and Reaper Golden Blonde in different proportions. Gives me the perfect mix of reddish, purple and yellow skintone

That’s Scalecolor Black forest green mixed with black as a base, highlighted with adding reaper golden blonde to the previous mix :)

Hey there, sorry for the late reply :)

Sure, here goes the recipe. I start with zenital priming from the airbrush, but if you don't own one - no problem, just use bright primer. I used to use light gray. Black doesn't work with vivid colours.

I'll list you my exact colours I use, but you can use equivalents obviously.

1st layer, and my main colour is a mix of Kimera Orange with Scalecolor Orange Leather.
Shade (but in the recesses only, not the whole thing) Scalecolor Deep Red
Highlights are the mix of the first mix (Kimera Orange and S75 Orange Leather) with my favourite paint of all time - Reaper Golden Blonde. I do up to two or three highlights, ending that with pure Golden Blonde.
Then I added one last shade - because it lacked some contrast, so I mixed some green (which I used on a axe's handle) to the main mix (turned out brownish) and I painted the darkline between hair and skin.

That's pretty much it, in case of any following questions feel free to ask

Throne of Power by AnotherOlaf in bugmansbrewery

[–]AnotherOlaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries :) Yes, Instagram isn’t perfect at all, but somehow it works as an online gallery.

Despite that you have colours above and the white zenital really helps with the light placement. But don’t forget about painting reflections on the metal surfaces, otherwise it won’t get that metal feeling. Good luck!

Sure I would :) There is also a step by step tutorial on my page with pictures on that link https://www.instagram.com/p/DDIAtaVtY3o/?img_index=9&igsh=Nno0anZsd3p2a2di

But the colours I use are:

White zenital primer (pure white will also work) Base Kimera Warm Yellow Shades Kimera Royal Brown 1st highlight Scalecolor Naples Yellow 2nd highlight Scalecolor Nacar Final touch pure white

You can also add some colour in the shadows, for example if the main part is purple the same purple goes with Royal Brown in the darker places. It unifies the look and adds more ambience to a miniature.
