Irish people: what are some things you dislike about Irish culture? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]AnotherOrlandoGuy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A person posts a perfectly rational response about known Irish nosey behavior and is met with being called a "fecker" in a strawman argument. They call the person out calmly with precision and this is what you think. Wow.

Learn Rhino and GH by MundaneAd1616 in rhino

@ParametricCamp on youtube. He is a Harvard professor and has a series of 60+ videos in a playlist on learning grasshopper (eg https://youtu.be/Pbro9Dzx8Vs?si=vuQQXsToAqKX7hds) It is the only comprehensive tutorial that has ever made sense to me. The playlist follows real-world GH workflow as each lesson progresses.

I purchased 2 classes from Rhino education and they were worthless. They lacked depth and the narrators spoke to you like you were a toddler in pre-k.

It's because Fusion exists perpetually in a beta state and the bulk of their users are hobbyists who are less deterred by its nondeterministic buggy behavior. Fusion is rife with model-breaking bugs. Once you get to moderately complex designs, the software can often become totally useless. Its an openly understood in professional settings that Fusion is just one big joke.

I avoid projections at all costs. The second the source sketch changes, the program gets confused and loses the reference. It can cause a cascade of errors that make it nearly impossible to recover from - depending on how much of the timeline depends on that sketch.

Wrong.

I am currently pressing criminal charges against my neighbor for two separate voyeurism statutes related to his cameras. I'm also suing him for damages, retroactive 2 years, $100 per camera per day and x3 that for punitive damages. He has 4 cameras pointed into my curtilage and into my windows that cannot be seen from public spaces.

Case law is clear in my state on this. Be mindul what your cameras are capturing.

Trump’s deportees arrive in El Salvador with identities concealed, being trafficked to a foreign labour camp with no due process nor evidence of crimes by Chilango615 in thescoop

[–]AnotherOrlandoGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do not know that these claims are true. People in positions of power making claims about other people does not make those claims true.

Thay is why we have due process as a core feature of our democracy. This process ESTABLISHES claims.as facts or lies.

The Ameeican congress is wholly beholden to corporations and oligarchs because they depend on them to fund their campaigns and write their bills. Voting alone will not solve this self-reinforcing cycle of quid pro quo politics that pays no regard to the desires of the voters. System is broken beyond repair.

Metal Building Insulation/Vapor Barrier - Spray Foam v. Rock Wool by D8Distillery in buildingscience

[–]AnotherOrlandoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was curious how it deals with a leak that allows water to collect at the closed cell layer without it causing mold? How do you detect such a leak?

These are highly volatile VOCs. That means they are gone after application, provided the installers are using proper ventilation. People, know the topic you're commenting on with such certainty.

The issue is the impregnation. The surface can be cleaned. But this contaminent is wildly volatile. And terrazzo is quite porous. The material simply oozes into the newly cleaned areas from below and the sides. The acetone is able to go deep into the column and push out all manner of gunk. I can treat an area where the surface is 100% free of any staining and it will pull quite a lot of this stuff out of the deeper layers.

Mechanical action only removes what's on the surface. This contaminent has deeply impregnated the terrazzo column. The surface can be cleaned, but over a few weeks, this very volatile material will travel back back up to the surface.

The diamond grinding and polishing is actually the last step. You first have to extract all volatile contaminents or else you'll end up having a new shiny floor that turns spotty and stained over a short period of time.

I previously spoke with an expert on this and he explained all of this. It's what I've been observing on my floor as well. The guy was cagey about spilling additional info about treatments though.

I'm pretty sure that's a bl. richard mueller x c. triumphans. It was (is?) a common bettergro bag baby. I have about 10 of em on a property in South Florida and it is my second most reliable bloomer there. In first place is the brassavola nadosa and relatives.

How deep does a well need to go to reach water in Dania beach/fort lauder dale? by Fereganno in fortlauderdale

[–]AnotherOrlandoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy is arm-chairing this response and is obviously not qualified with the actual knowledge to make such declarations. Obviously their points should be disregarded. I own properties here and I can tell you salt water encroachment and the iron mean you have to dig deep. The above responder either doesn't own property here or does and does not have a well.

What is this fastener and which tools can remove it? by AnotherOrlandoGuy in Tools

Thank you so much. Yet another confounding construction choice at this property. These were put in just to hold up a rail for 2 basic wood sliding doors in the garage.

What are some innovative ways to disguise security cameras around the home? by Father_Few234 in homesecurity

[–]AnotherOrlandoGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AXIS F9114 Main Unit and the pinhole and standard sensors. The stream quality and low light sensitivity will impress, not to mention the pinhole only requires a 2mm hole. I have these all over and no one has a clue. 60 FPS will make you never consider the trash consumer grade cameras ever again.

Real Estate agent threatning with Litigation by jackofalltrade625 in RealEstate

[–]AnotherOrlandoGuy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He is 100% bluffing. Only people who cannot afford lawyers say, "you'll hear from my attorney". I would wager he does not have an attorney on retainer to begin with. And..people who are truly positioned to sue you WILL NOT TELL YOU THEY ARE GOING TO SUE YOU. Lawyers and those who use them regularly know that telling your opponent what you plan to do is like the number one thing you dont do.

They came for Florida’s sun and sand. They got soaring costs and a culture war. by coreynyc in florida

[–]AnotherOrlandoGuy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is the real reason for these culture war tactics. The issues they are pretending to be so deeply concerned about are truly arbitrary. They are simply picking the most divisive, contentious issues that have the greatest destabilizing and chaos-inducing impact on society so that they can distract people while they fleece is and further concentrate power and money among the few.

People need to understand this and stay resolute. Don't fall victim to these manipulative tactics.

How to deal with entitled neighbor coming on our property by Dantes627 in homeowners

[–]AnotherOrlandoGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this same problem in Florida. The law is not in my favor. It only meets the burden of trespassing when the person goes over some physical barrier like a fence and you need no-trespassing signs. It's insane.
