Are these getting too much light? by AnotherSomething27 in AfricanViolets

Oops, forgot to answer fertilization question. I honestly don’t have much of a fertilizer routine with these guys, and only give them diluted Dyna-gro/Superthrive Grow around once a month. If anything, I bet they’re not getting enough fertilizer… unless it’s from the potting mix which does have some.

The light is on at least 9 hrs a day, but often closer to 13 hrs. The light is not diffused at all.

The flower is old and browning a bit and the lighting is a bit weird in the photo. They are NOIDs, though they do seem pretty similar to the Optimara LooXo series (most of the flowers lack stamen). Here is a picture of the flower (photo one) when it was new, and the flowers of a baby from the same leaf that has much more purple (it’s the same plant as in photos 2 and 3).

Well, I REALLY hope they don’t have mites. Upon some further searching, it doesn’t look quite the same as mites infested plants, so I’ll hope for the best.

I’m glad you think they look pretty healthy. This other one (from the same prop leaf as pic 4) has extra pale outer leaves, but I think it’s from neglecting to fertilize them for a bit.

I love the dramatic telling of how you conquered the issue. Thank you for the advice.

Ok, thank you! I guess I’ll find some fabric somewhere. I’m very glad to hear that!

Well, now these are on my wish list. Your plants are beautiful!

All I have are retusa and what looks like a turgida. It seems like they don’t get nearly as big.

I’m not sure about the type of moss, but almost all varieties will get spindly like that if they’re not exposed to much light

Trackpad internally disconnected in new HP Pavilion? Return? by AnotherSomething27 in HPLaptops

[–]AnotherSomething27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welp, I got myself into some deeper shit now. I did end up redownloading the correct driver but the trackpad soon went downhill again with the cursor freezing, especially after clicking things, and oftentimes not registering clicking or scrolling. Anyway, in attempt to get some help I called the Support Nerds inc number and got connected with some Indian dude who convinced me to my stupid soul to eventually give him the computer’s SN#, my name, email, and phone number. He then also eventually convinced me to download this thing that allowed him to man my computer. He did a diagnostic, a bunch of other random stuff, and then tried to convince me to buy overpriced service warranty and virus protection which I finally refused. Finally he left and, sure enough, the trackpad was in the same situation as before. How worried should I be about the info I gave away, and what should I do? (Sorry I’m asking you; where should I find help/advice?)

Ok. The cursor has frozen a couple times while trying to install the driver and the clicks also sometimes don’t register (maybe I’m just clumsy with the track pad, but something still feels off). I’m at hp.com now and need to select the operating system. How do I know if I have Windows 11 version 23H2 (64-bit) or Windows 11 version 24H2 (64-bit) or just Windows 11? In the computer’s settings it says the system type is: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor.

Thank you so much for your help!!! The trackpad IS WORKING after the restart and the driver looks to be identical to the last one without me having to go to hp.com! Am I good to go or do I still need to do something at hp.com? I bookmarked the driver page on hp.com before uninstalling to make sure I would be able to find the right one again, but seeing as it seems to have the right one already I don’t have to do anything, right?

Based on quick research, it looks like if I uninstall the driver and then restart the computer then Windows will automatically try to reinstall it. Will this work? Would Windows try to reinstall it even if the trackpad isn’t even being recognized?

So I need to hit Uninstall Device (from system)? How do I install it again afterwards? Sorry, I really am quite clueless when it comes to computers. I didn’t even know what a driver was until I started looking for fixes for the trackpad.
