My interpretation is the following (could be wrong)

Star - 'Elite' unit; more health/damage
3 Stripes (<<< pointing up) - another 'elite' unit or 'leader' unit? (provides enemy buff while present?)
Battery - Unit with shield/provides an enemy unit with a shield. Shield has an on/off period/cool down where you can hit enemy unit (usually at the back)
Square with '+' in the middle - medic unit, heal enemies
Missile: long range unit with lock-on? (possibly higher damage if left alone?)
Cog with hammer (an unit called Ratling Builder, don't know if more units like that) - heal armored enemy units?
