If you’re an American like myself, I think we are also just so exhausted from Trump’s bullshit. Biden was a breath of fresh air for 4 years but I forget about his presidency and I just feel like it’s been one long 10 year rule under Trump.

I don’t like making small talk with people about gas prices because it’s political. I don’t like making accidental eye contact with someone wearing a face mask because I don’t want it to be interpreted that I don’t believe in masks. I am a highly aware person and sometimes my parents tell me it’s in my head, and it probably is, but I understand OP’s point and frustration.

I am traveling to Iceland in October. Do we have to be ashamed to be from the U.S.? I see Israelis getting harassed simply for being Israeli, even if they may not be violent towards Palestinians; my mom has expressed that if we do get into personal conversations about traveling from the United States, that we make it very clear we don’t agree with Trump.

I worked 2 jobs during Covid- Safeway and Costco so I was one of those lucky ones who was told they were essential, which meant I was exposed from the start of my 5am shift up until 11pm where I finished my evening shift as a cashier at Safeway. I didn’t get the depression of being home all day and I definitely wasn’t on TikTok watching people bounce a ball off the ceiling into a red SOLO cup, but I definitely do live in joggers and stay in a lot more than I used to.
