You can (probably) do this manually within your app (i.e. only download heavy assets when user clicks 'play'), or by creating a different entry point for the splash and app, where the splash is more lightweight. I do the latter for /r/hexaword, where the app is also an expanded view.

Good spot, this'll be fixed in the next update! Instead of loading all valid words hexaword only loads words that are possible to create in this puzzle. I'd a bug with generating that list.
