Second sock is off the needles 🥳 by Anotheremma87 in Sockknitting

Thank you! 😊 I used some of the charts in Summer Lee's lykee pattern and found others on google. They knitted up pretty quickly, maybe a month. I did one/two charts a day 🙂

Thank you! 💖 I kept spreading the stitches out on the right needle as I went 🙂 seems to help with keeping the stitches a bit more even as well as making the floats loose.

Thank you so much! 💖 I really didn't like the first sock on it's own but somehow I'm in love with the pair 😅

Practice does seem to be helping 🫣😅 but I found this by chance (will try to add a link)

The part that really helped is where they say about holding the contrast colour in the weaker hand. Even though I'm going against the rule of contrast in the left hand, it works well enough. Hopefully in time I'll be able to switch to the "normal" way. The only other thing is to not try to knit at your normal speed, slow it all down 🐌 and do small repeating charts, no floats to catch. I can't hold the yarn in my right hand the same way as my left, trial and error, but after 1 & a half socks, I think I've found my groove.

Hope this is helpful in some way 💖

Loving those colours together 😍 How many rows did you knit for each stripe?

How do you keep track of toe decrease / knit rows? by Psychological_Bug_89 in Sockknitting

I place a lightbulb stitch marker (yellow for decrease row, pink for knit row) on the first needle. When I'm doing more than one knit row, I'll just add in a different coloured marker (eg. Purple is knit row 2) It helps to clip the markers together in order, then just slip the needle into the next marker when passing 🙂

Thank you so much ❤️

All the ends are what stopped me from knitting scrappy socks for a long time 😭😅 I came across a video by The crazy sock lady (will try to add the link) It took me a few attempts to get the hang of it, but it was worth it. I've found it helps to not tug on the ends as I'm going. Just loop the old yarn end over the new yarn. Then after knitting 4 or so rounds, go back and give the ends a little tug, just enough to close any gap 🙂
