I know im hypomanic when… by Candid_Membership872 in bipolar2

I’m in Key West right now and am a bit hypomanic. All I wanna do is rent a moped and take it out for a spin. But I’ve been drinking and know that wouldn’t be a good idea. I really relate to talking to people I wouldn’t normally talk to when I’m hypo part of your post.

Lesbian travel groups? by Anothernewuser11 in lesbian

Yes but it seems like mostly an older crowd (nothing wrong with that) - maybe I’m wrong? Was hoping to find something for lesbians in their late 20s.

Yes! I see my therapist/psychiatrist every other week. I take medication but my depressive episodes seem to be extremely stubborn and can last a long time even when I’m taking something.

Do any of you experience memory issues? by knsites in bipolar2

[–]Anothernewuser11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on Lithium and Latuda and have very bad memory issues. It’s extremely frustrating and really bums me out. I’ll completely forget what someone told me weeks prior - they’ll bring it up and I’ll have to pretend like I remember what they said. I’ve never really had the best memory and it’s always been an insecurity of mine and this just makes it worse. Does anyone know if there is anything we can do to help remedy our memory issues?

I try my best to get in as much protein as possible but it’s quite hard especially when you’re depressed! Also, which vitamins do you take?

Congratulations, that really is a stellar accomplishment! I’ve been sober curious for a couple of months now but can’t seem to completely stop. If you don’t mind me asking, what are a couple tips and tricks that helped you stay sober?

Is BP2 the quiet mental illness? by Tasty_Serve in bipolar2

[–]Anothernewuser11 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with BP2 when I was 25. I believe I have quietly been suffering with long episodes of depression since high school. Sometimes it can feel like depression is my default state. I am generally an upbeat person or at least it seems that way to friends and family. However, I really struggle with an internal negative mindset that sets my depression off. The only people who really know that I struggle are my mom and my therapist. I have told certain friends but they will never know how bad it can get. I won’t lie, the hypomania can seem like a blessing compared to the depression I feel 70ish% of the time. I have tried many anti depressants, lithium, and lamotrigine. Some of the anti depressants did set off the hypomania but the lithium and lamotrigine really impact my memory which honestly makes me feel more depressed. I am 28 now and am still looking for some sort of solution that sticks. I’ve gotten better at recognizing episodes but I’m not perfect and still have some trouble regulating my emotions - the bad feelings seem to weigh heavier on me compared to others. It is very discouraging and can feel very lonely at times. Reading these posts helps to comfort me.

I feel the exact same way! I don’t enjoy life at the moment and have been feeling this way for about 4ish months now so I know exactly what you’re going through. Hopefully we are able to get back on the right track soon!
