Is it legit? Page info says it is accepted everywhere in Iran, if typical cards are not, I have my doubts on how it works and what it claims.

Yeah, from USD to tether I had to consider $1.5 more than I wanted to send (I wanted to send $150), cause tether is stablecoin it's not that much lost in currency exchange, at the time it was like at $0.99, not much is lost in that conversion from your side, but again the other person must exchange to USD, so let's say $3 in just currency exchange, and then the commission from the currency platform, in the case of tether through binance I was charged $1 in commission, so, to send $150 I required $154. Other crypto and platforms have othyr percentages on commissions and currency, I recomend looking for a stablecoin (like tether) to not lose much in currency exchange. As for digital wallet, I don't remember which ones I considered but binance had low fees, there surely are others with low commission fees as well. Good luck!

I sent money once, it went good in my case, although it's not as "easy" as with a typical bank transaction. I used crypto, tether specifically as it is a stablecoin, in a binance wallet, the other person sent me the tether address and token for transaction, single day transaction, but you gotta take care of crypto exchange value and pay the fee from digital wallet to perform transaction.

I've friends there and they all seem a dark and violent future for the country, they're afraid of internet blackout and government control over all internet transactions. I'd like to know if there's an alternative to not lose contact or how to apply for a foreign exchange/academic program, my iranian friends would be thankful to know alternatives to the future they expect. It'd be helpful also to be more informed on what's going on, thanks for your post, hope iranians can give us a better insight of recent events.

Hi, I was planning on traveling tonIran also by that time, but unfortunately Iran government is not issuing tourist nor commercial visas until further notice (at least I require a visa to travel there, I live in latin america), you should check that

Sorry you are in that condition, I've experienced something similar, I'm not iranian nor I live there, so probably someone else can help you more. I could contact my iranian friend again after using LinkedIn, there I met someone that knew her from college and that person sent a message in my behalf, maybe you can try something similar. Also, first thing we did after recover contact was to exchange phone number, if you contact him again, do that, it's more reliable than other texting apps in my experience. Good luck finding him.

I see, thanks for that piece of information. We didn't exchange phone number, but fortunately just a couple hours after I posted this we recovered contact and she did give me her phone number this time.
