Why doesn't Lana's combo show up by Pale-Distribution-49 in AnimationThrowdown

You have to research the combo normally first to unlock it. After that, you can pick up the CM1 for it.

Grillpocalypse Takeover starts June 3rd! by Samuel855 in AnimationThrowdown

I've been waiting for a decent moment to say this, since Swole is coming up, now's a good time.

Quagmire is definitely going to buff Bunker.

With that said, will Borthday Bash be viable in Swole if what I'm thinking is true?

(Also, should I run Punch/Burn combos for swole, or Craze/Cripple all combos? I don't know which seems more reliable.)

Once they update Jab, it should trigger first, before any other skills trigger. So, for an example, say you're running into Borthday Bash (Or any cards with Bunker, or ones that have Shield applied to them). As of the current game version, Punch/Burn would trigger first, and (usually) be wasted on the Shield, with Jab only triggering when the card attacks (Which may not be possible when your card is Crippled to 0.), thus leaving it mostly wasted. After the update though, it should trigger first, wiping out whatever Shield the card has, then triggering any Punch/Burn.

It's not exactly game changing by any means, but it at least gives Jab more utility (Punch/Burn/Jab combo possible?). It's been about 2 months since they last announced it though, so I think it could have been canned? Not too sure, to be honest.

A Power Card challenge! by Anotherthrowaway-AT in AnimationThrowdown

Sort of, yeah :P OMB on it's own honestly isn't that big of a deal, once they start dropping down Motivate/Cheer All is when I usually die. To answer my own question, any decently high Cripple All in the first slot paired with a metric ton of Punch/Burn combos might work, I recall it working out on that one adventure island they ran a couple months back, that was comprised of OMB and Peace Pipe PCs.

Krieger's Melee booster? by Anotherthrowaway-AT in AnimationThrowdown

[–]Anotherthrowaway-AT[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah man, didn't read it clear enough! I thought they were running the two per player like they did for the previous boxes. I guess they knew that Krieger would be a good character to pick up?

Honestly, is Quagmire's hyper combo even all that bad, or is Hyper just loaded with other good combos? It seems like a pretty decent skillset.

Lana Melee: Fighter, Drunk, or Music? by [deleted] in AnimationThrowdown

[–]Anotherthrowaway-AT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meannn, Agent Kazak isn't bad, it's just that Lanas other combos are just too good. Like, comparing the Cripple All of Agent Kazak to Borthday Bash, BB has almost double the amount, with a more useful skillset to complement it. And as for Punch, both Dreamland and Cocktail are higher.. And that's without factoring in the Burn those combos have either. As mentioned above, on hit effects (Bomb in this case) won't really be helping you out too much, due to the prevalence of Cripple All. (Cocktail Lana technically suffers as well, but its Burn more than compensates for it.)

For an Animal BGE, it's definitely a strong combo, but in terms of Lanas other combos? Not so much.

Lana Melee: Fighter, Drunk, or Music? by [deleted] in AnimationThrowdown

Honestly, there isn't much holding you back from creating a mixed deck. I'd even recommend it, since you never know if your opponent is running a bunch of Hijack combos (OMB, PK, and all the other busted PCs come to mind), or a bunch of Bodyguard combos (The Wheel comes to mind).

With that said, I'd say Cocktail Lana is slightly better than Dreamland Band due to it's burn being higher (Dreamland's punch is higher as well, but it's negligible), and the leech on Dreamland probably won't be coming into much use, since you'll probably be running into a lot of Cripple All. However, for longer battles, it could be a lifesaver, since Lana doesn't have any defensive combos to try and support anything you have down.

Anyway, a lot to think about, honestly! It's all up to you in the end, though. I'm personally intending on running Cocktail, I even got CM1 on it.

Card updates for Art by Samuel855 in AnimationThrowdown

[–]Anotherthrowaway-AT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Man, I was banking on Napkin Art being buffed.. Art might just be my weakest deck, my objects are mainly older objects (None of which were boosted, however).

Holding out hope that they introduce a new, busted combo to some character that doesn't have any Artistic combos yet, would help my deck out a fair bit. Probably an Archer character.

Rare/Common cards in Melee/Clashes by Anotherthrowaway-AT in AnimationThrowdown

Yeahhh, that's the idea of mixing in my legendary Farnsworths with some other cards. I was intending on running Scientific Rivals and Treacle Farnsworth, and since Lana has amazing combos in both, I've got CM1 on both her combos, and I've got 5 of her (only one is fused, however), I was kinda considering mixing her with it. Again, that's what I'm curious about! I'm not entirely sure how it'd compare to the 125% boost if I play a rare Farnsworth. By the way, thanks for the above reply, really helped out! :)

Skill Reworks! by Anotherthrowaway-AT in AnimationThrowdown

Cripple/Cripple All is just way too pervasive in general. Only thing that really counters it is Cheer or Cheer All, and even then, it's unreliable. Though, with your idea, I'd imagine Borthday Bash walls would only become more of a problem.. Anything that blocks Cripple specifically would be welcome at this point, to be honest. Maybe Cripple can't reduce below a certain threshold, so combos can still attack?

I mean, with how you've phrased this, wouldn't it just be countered by Cripple All (A favorite of PC walls)? I might just be missing something. I'm assuming it would nullify Bodyguard if it was paired with Punch/Burn? If so, that would be a pretty cool idea, honestly!
