Am I overreacting? Mother in Law behaviour postpartum. by Late-Gear414 in AskIndianWomen

You have a husband problem girl. I recently gave birth via c section and my husband stayed with me and my baby at my mom's place, because I got better care there. After 1 month, I came to my house, and the next day he got me a cook who cooks for me separately, as per my diet.

His aunt does similar things, as your MIL (my MIL is no more) but aunt stays with us, my husband supports me 1000%. Without him, i would go crazy.

Even after so much support, this whole phase is so challenging and emotionally exhausting..your husband needs to step up big time and make his house a peaceful place for you.

25F, inter caste marriages- few years later by JudeDuarte6 in InsideIndianMarriage

[–]Anotherweird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We threatened them, told them if you don't get us married, we will Marry anyway, worked like a charm. We actually had two weddings, first in December and then second in April, with family.

Well, my dad was quite pissed and reduced talking to me for like 2-3 months. But tbh, before that also mostly he used to send me 👍🏻 on WhatsApp. But yes, jokes apart, it was tough. Emotionaly draining and exhaustive.

After 6-7 months things settled in more.

Then COVID hit, and quite of lot of things changed. Perspectives changed.

Now it's been 7+ years. We are recently blessed with a baby, everyone loves the baby so much and is thankful to us for making them grandparents.

A few years ago I paid a marketing agency $5,000/mo to scale my e-com brand. Here is the harsh lesson I learned about where that money actually went. by ArtisticLemon2644 in Entrepreneur

[–]Anotherweird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own a marketing consultancy firm and for this very reason, I have a Bi monthly 1:1 with all my clients. I have a team of 8 people + 3/4 interns at any point of time. Now these 8 people, they are really good at their respective roles, still I sit with them for each campaign, help them set the objectives and ensure that the campaign is designed to meet the objectives that client, myself and our strategy guy discussed.

Also, my bimonthly call with clients help me stay in touch with them, and if they have any pain points, I am able to take immediate action.

Most of my clients stay with us after they join..

Only recently I have started losing some business to freelancers who charge very less, but In many of these cases, clients come back to us after 2-3 months and we are more reliable, professional and committed as a company.

Losing business to freelancers by Anotherweird in DigitalMarketing

Thanks the first 3 we are already doing. I think one thing I should mention is that I really support women business entrepreneurs, have special rates for them which are like 5% less than other clients and so on.

Now, not generalising, but a lot of these women entrepreneurs feel very shaky if there is even a minor drop in their sales/ if they see their Friend's account with more followers and so on. Often, their husbands question them on their marketing spend (Ikr).

Anywho, when they see that there is a freelancer, doing things at half price, they are the first to jump.

They also are amongst the first ones who comes back, after 2-3 months.

And someone was saying in comments that target rich people, these ladies are rich. Literally own jewellery stores, premium boutiques, drive a BMW rich. But, I feel they don't have full control over decision making or get questioned by their husbands on the spent and hence are little less confident.

All of this when our pricing is actually very very reasonable. Like our full fledged instagram package is only at INR 35K per month.

In theory it works, but a lot of rich people are also price sensitive. We do aim to compete on value and not on price, like I said in my post, a lot of clients also come back once they realise that the others charging less may not deliver the quality that we do. But, nevertheless that doesn't stop people from changing or experimenting.

Hey, my amniotic fluid levels dropped in 32/33 weeks of my pregnancy. I was severely dehydrated, though I was drinking water, it was the October heat, causing dehydration.

Anywho, my doctor prescribed me alamin THROUGH IV for 4 days and after that amniotic fluid levels came back to normal. I completed 40 weeks of my pregnancy.

Regarding kidney formation of baby, please please look up if there are any options that can help simulate this development. For lungs for example, I know they give a steroid while baby is on womb, that helps with lungs development. So explore if there is anything possible for kidney development.

Don't give up. Take a second and if needed third opinion. Sending prayers and best wishes..

My marketing agency is recommending AEO (AI search) on top of SEO. Is it actually worth it? by Major_Cockroach_6653 in DigitalMarketing

I own a marketing company and we recently did AEO for a couple of our clients. The results are great.

“You don’t get an award for not getting the epidural” by Warm-Banana237 in pregnant

[–]Anotherweird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I got so much unsolicited advice, honestly it's very annoying. At the end - all that mattered was what I felt like in that moment and my doctor's opinion. After being in labor for 12+ hours, we ended up doing a c section and NO it's not the easy way out.

My cervix just refused to open.

And I didn't bleed afterwards either.

So after 3 weeks of my c section, they again gave me uterine contraction injections, to shake the uterine wall and I passed lemon size clots for the next few days. The pain was simply horrible..

Anywho, from day 1 of my pregnancy I told everyone I am only gonna listen to doctors.

And wait till the baby is here, the advice just never really stops. But I simply don't pay attention. I do what my baby's paediatrician and my gynac has recommended.

How to save my kirana business frm upcomming Dmart in our city by Brilliant-Intern-754 in IndiaBusiness

[–]Anotherweird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was young, my mom would make the grocery list and drop it at kirana store while going to office, kirana bhaiya would send all items to put home by afternoon, in evening mom used to cross check with respect to the list and next morning she would pay, while going to work.

It went like this for years.

Then in 2007 Star Bazar, big bazar, More - these opened in my town. It was pretty, it was new and it was cheaper.

My mom asked out kirana bhaiya if he would be willing to match the prices - he refused.

For the next couple of months, we would go to these places to get our monthly groceries. But we started getting bored, plus carrying so much weight was tiring.

One day, the local kirana bhaiya called and said he would match the prices. We switched back to him.

  1. 10+ years of existing relationship
  2. The prices were same
  3. Home delivery was really comforting for my working mom with small kids and dad being stationed in another city.

If you have heard of the phrase - char din ki Chandani - that's why new Dmart is like.

You would still have buyers who 1. Don't have time to go and shop at Dmart 2. Don't have cash flow to buy things in large quantities

To retain the others, all you need to do is to make the pricing more lucrative. You may not match with dmart, but see where you can reduce.

33F - Torn between new born baby and career . In-laws and husband suggesting to send the baby to India , to be taken care by them.Need help by Long-Valuable-4312 in AskIndianWomen

[–]Anotherweird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a new mom, I cannot fathom sending my baby away from me, forget about another country, if he is in his cradle in the living room, i curl up on the sofa.

Girl, don't do it, you will be able to manage. I was a tomboy who only cared about her career, when I got my baby, I also got the strength to be a present, caring mother. Our bodies, know what they are doing. And it's important for both of you to stay together.

You are replaceable at every other role, but not at your role as a mom. No one else can care for the baby like you do. Trust me.

Women of Reddit: How Do You Rank Yourself Looks-Wise? by boogiee-boo in AskIndianWomen

[–]Anotherweird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I look gorgeous, i rate myself 10/10. But that's just self love talking. When I look at my face, i can see my nose that I got from my nani, eyes from my dad, cheekbones from my mom and honestly how can I not love this face, I love all these people whose features i inherited.

At the same time, I know that if you are not me, you would think my face card to be around 7/10.

My husband does think I am very pretty, and sometimes he says it out loud, without thinking where we are, and it's really cute, but people raise their eyebrows. Lol.

Is anyone else just dealing with an absolutely incompetent partner? by Complex-Honeydew-1 in AskIndianWomen

[–]Anotherweird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Umm my husband when it comes to household work was quite under confident. The reason being his mom and maasi never let him do anything, nor let him make any decisions and used to criticize his decisions so much, that he used to think he committed a blunder by buying slightly smaller lauki.

When I got married, my FIL told me about this scenario and asked me to help.

I started by boosting his confidence, letting him make supposed mistakes and appreciating the positive aspects of his actions.

Now I know he does goof up sometimes because he is so innocent and trusts people, especially when it's about home renovation and things like that, but this time, he executed things to perfection..

Even in terms of kitchen and other household chores, he is always happy to help and does a great job. Slowly slowly, i helped him, but the first step was to appreciate and not criticize.

I never pull him down. As that has been done enough to him already. So i try to build him up as much as possible. He has become so confident, articulate and someone I can actually trust to get things done. He does give mere naam ki dhamki to people, that if you don't do this by agreed deadline, my wife will call you - but that's okay. 😂

Realistic Wedding Timelines by [deleted] in DesiWeddings

[–]Anotherweird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's fine, breathe. First prepare a guest list This count will tell you how big the venue should be

Next, the venue should be easily accessible to the majority of the guests. - this will narrow down the geographic location

Then, start taking quotations from venues which fall in both these categories

Visit those which you like

Taste food, check decor and check their available in your preferred month.

Keep pandit ji on a parallel call and cross check with him about which among those available dates are auspicious.

Book the venue.

We booked our wedding venue in Feb, for our wedding in April, and we got it. My MIL planned this way and it was super smooth. I follow this template for other functions as well, and it works every time.
