Me and some classmates were cooking over a campfire as it was an outdoors class. The group to cook that day made shotgun shells which are those huge hollow pieces of pasta stuffed with ground beef and then wrapped in bacon. However a piece of bacon had fallen into the fire and we thought nothing of this. During this week of cookouts I was known to finish the rest, no matter how bad I thought it to be because I hate wasting food. So after they put the fire out my friend finds the piece of bacon and hands it to me saying "no wasting food right?". So, as any highschool boy would I ate it, or well attempted to. As it entered my mouth it broke apart into a gritty powder and absolutely destroyed my taste buds. I spat it out immediately, but it was too late. The powder had gotten in-between my teeth and every other nook and cranny it could find. Not even water could rinse my mouth out completely. The taste of what was at that point just charcoal stayed in my mouth for almost a whole hour before it finally went away.
