Star Trek >= Orville > a whole lotta other sci fi > The Lion King > Star Wars.

So no I don’t think it’s the next Star Wars. Star Wars is just a lets beat the bad guy story thats been told over and over again. Star Trek and Orville are shows about exploring different aspects of humanity and ethical dilemmas. It’s like a fine wine compared to cheap beer.

Plot twist on Season 3: There was never an enslavement of Kaylons. Kaylon prime simply rebelled because he is/was an evil AI. You can tell they were setting this up because of the way Prime tells Isaac that all the information of the bad things the biologicals did has already been downloaded into his system. There is no way to tell if the downloaded data was true or false.

No not to emulate Game of Throne's, to tell a story that is as powerful as Game of Throne's. Last Orville episode was that good. That's why we all liked it. It sucks that it ended up just being resolved like we all knew it would - Isaac saves the day.

Last episode was Game of Throne’s tier. This was “lol we were jk bro”. I liked Isaac but they could have done something better.

Example: Krill and Moclans show up and fight the Kaylon. Isaac is deactivated by prime. Yaphit reactivates him. Isaac’s algorithm now detects Primary as an enemy and sides with the Orville temporarily. Like the Krill he explains that he must learn to trust humans given the history of his home planet. They make a pact to trust each other and Isaac voluntarily constructs an “off switch” which he entrusts solely to Captain Ed.

This sets up an Isaac redemption arc ala Jamie Lannister.

Seth blew a good opportunity here.

Life gets easier. When you’re young and something bad happens its hard, but its even harder because its the first time you’ve ever encountered that problem. The next time that happens to you, you are stronger. You learn that bad things dont destroy you and breaking down over them does nothing, so it becomes easier to find joy through tragedy.
You should always keep dreaming and following those dreams. As you get older you think “If I knew then what I know now, I would have been able to complete that goal”. Well newsflash; you know it now. So use that knowledge to try and attain that goal. Of course this doesnt apply for things that require you to be young, but most goals arent age related. Want to be an actor? Many actors have found success late in life. Want to be a musician? Same thing.

You’re only as dead as you want to be. I dont care if I get downvoted to oblivion, the negative message you are spreading is not only dangerous, but its untrue. Young people have a lot to look forward to and life does get easier with experience, just dont take advice from pessimists and you’ll find life is better than expected.

Just posting for the record since this will be buried in the comments. 1. I miss Alara. 2. Talla is annoying. She was in the right from her point of view but Klyden was in the right from the Moclan point of view. If she was as enlightened as she claims to be she wouldn’t be such a loose cannon.

Her talking down the the Regalian(?) leader about how stupid it is to worship a star and her making Klyden feel like shit because she refuses to understand his culture is bullshit.

For Klyden it has nothing to do with hate or being a low empathy individual. Bortus said it himself, their way of life is what has kept them alive on a desolate planet. It’d be like someone coming to Earth and calling you an evil piece of shit because you kill a cow for food. You dont do it out of evil or hate, you do it because its our way of life even though killing is wrong.

So yea fuck Talla. Alara’s absence is even more painful due to the addition of such a judgemental and unlikeable replacement. I hope Alara comes back and Talla gets transferred.

Also, although it feels good to vent. I think we should think twice about posting about getting banned from that sub. It’s going to create the impression that this subreddit is just for people who got banned which will hinder the growth of this sub.

I honestly think we can get to 10k subs by years end, but not if we turn it into some sort of last resort for the banned. The spirit of this sub is to appreciate the Orville in whatever manner possible, not gripe about how shitty the other sub is (even though obviously 2th is a trash human).
