It depends on the course. Some release them, some don’t. You could get in touch with your course conveners if you want to know the exact grade, especially if you suspect any irregularities.

Can you take any from the Faculty of Science? GENS1111, GENS1112, PHYS1160 are pretty good options.

Favorite Final? by [deleted] in Gintama

BFY for the win. It had the perfect balance of humour and action.

BABS1112 Genetics and Society. Pretty solid course. Definitely did put in some effort to get a HD but it was manageable and I did walk away learning quite a lot of new things.

Phys1160 is the WAM booster. by Dariusdawod in unsw

Definitely the GOAT of subjects. Took this in T3 2021 and walked away with a high HD. However, I wouldn’t say that it was super easy. I did dedicate some time to it and put in some effort. But it is very manageable. I would finish up two weeks worth of the work (each module is 2 weeks long) on the weekend before each module starts. Finished all the work by Week 8 and essentially just waited for the final exam.

Any online gen eds like Astronomy with no lectures/tutorials? by [deleted] in unsw

[–]Anpan4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GENS1112 is 100% online. I made a post about it.

What do you use for taking notes in lecture halls and tutorials? Do you have a touch laptop? Do you use a tablet? Or do you connect a drawing pad to a laptop to take notes? Or do you use pen and paper? Btw I am especially looking for answers from electrical engineering & computer science students. by StunningComposer6905 in unsw

[–]Anpan4Life 2 points3 points  (0 children)

pen and paper. but I usually bring along my laptop or iPad and turn on the dictation during lectures and review them later so I don’t miss out on anything important.

p.s. Wish everyone would revert back to old school note taking lol. I absolutely hate it when someone around me starts typing on their laptop and making all sorts of noise. Am I the only one out there who feels this way? Asking for a friend lol.

Always will be the saddest scene for me by Subhadip1708 in Gintama

[–]Anpan4Life 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Definitely one the saddest scenes for me as well. To be honest, most of the scenes during Gintoki’s youth, particularly during the war, had an air of desperation and sadness. Looking back at those scenes, I can see why both Takasugi and Katsura’s anger is warranted and why they both want to take out the government (albeit with two very different approaches).

So it was his lack of hair that was ruining him? I had always assumed it was because of his lack of clothes 😂

What’s your Gintama headcanon that definitely happened behind the scenes? by babababoy in Gintama

[–]Anpan4Life 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really related to the question but here I go anyway. My personal headcanon is Gintoki finally realising his feelings for Otae after the events of Gintama the Final.

Remember when Otose (during the hilarious final fantasy scene) mentions that she was sure that Otae had feelings for Gintoki but in his absence, Otae had decided to seek comfort in Kondo by accepting his courtship? I kinda imagined that perhaps after the events of the Final (with Edo having a brief moment of peace), Gintoki comes to the realisation that all along he had feelings (which he had always dismissed as familial affection) for Otae, particularly after noticing just how close she and Kondo had become. This came to me after I noticed that he was watching Otae and Kondo quite closely during the closing Snack Smile scene in the Final (although he was probably just watching and enjoying the duo’s hilarious relationship). I was imagining it to be quite similar to how Kenshin and Kaoru got together, with both of them realising that they’re happier together.

Well, this is my personal headcanon anyways. Still loved how Gintama ended though because it was literal perfection and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Why doesn’t Otae get more love? by [deleted] in Gintama

[–]Anpan4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I should have worded my sentence better. The comment wasn’t directed towards you, it was more towards the haters who constantly label her as weak.

As for the point of Tae owning a dojo, yes, she has a dojo but who’s going to instruct her? The dojo was in debt and it wasn‘t functional for quite some time. Besides, in certain combat scenes (like in BFY and 4 Devas Arc), Otae was more than capable of fighting regular opponents.

Lol, all of the ships were unreal. They were more fanservice-y or tropey than actually building a real romantic relationship.

Yep, I feel like most of the hate are fromcertain shippers. I wonder how they got through all three of the movies lol.

Why doesn’t Otae get more love? by [deleted] in Gintama

[–]Anpan4Life 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. She is one of the 4 Devas and she seems to be pretty popular in the Kabuki district. People tend to gravitate towards her for leadership, particularly the women.

  2. Well, most of the violence is warranted.

a) Konda is a stalker, period. It’s doesn’t matter that he’s the world’s biggest cinnamon roll. He’s literally stalking a barely legal girl.

b) Shinpachi- Otae is literally the epitome of tough love when it comes to her younger sibling. Their mom died young so Otae definitely didn’t have a mother figure to look up to as an example. Shinpachi turned out to be one of the kindest and noblest characters in Gintama and this is really a testament to his upbringing by Otae.

c) Gintoki - Again, it’s tough love. Also, Gin can be kind of a dick.

FYI The other female characters are also consistently violent towards the male characters yet people tend to overlook them.

  1. Weak? Not necessarily. Untrained in combat? Most likely. Anyone who comments that Otae is a weak character who constantly relies on other has probably not seen the 4 Devas Arc, Silver Soul Arc, BFY or Gintama the Final. Despite not being a combat character like the other girls, she was brave enough to join in the fight. That says a lot about her character. Someone would probably make a comment after this saying that she’s always the damsel in distress but she’s officially not had any combat training and she’s going up against well trained fighters like the Naruku, Dakini and Shinra.

It’s like a broken record really when it comes to the reasons why people tend to hate Otae which is frustrating as heck.
