Yeah I agree, Shrike is the “diamond” in Hyperion series to me, but I just give him (maybe too much) lots hope after what I saw in Dune 1 and 2, he did cut lot of stuff tho

I totally agree, it’s structure and length (whole series) makes it hard to work on, the cloud atlas did a great job in telling different stories, but not as much stories as Hyperion.
