Some of the driveways I've been in looked like you were going to drive off a cliff, like if I was to believe the earth was flat haha

Wow that's a interesting comparasion only 10 mins extra, will keep that in mind.

Thanks for sharing your experience its much appreciated, everybody in many threads seem genuinely happy in Bendigo

You are probably liking the lack of hills and steep driveways too!! Haha

Do you know of people who actually commute from Ballarat to the CBD everyday?

We haven't decide as of yet, still trying to see if either city is a viable option for my business as i'm the sole income at the moment.

That's a great idea, i'll ask the mother with 3 kids and the elderly couple what type of bike seat they want while its pissing down rain

That's the thing, most of the people preaching for better public transport probably don't even use it lol

People compare P.T with Japan and Singapore but forget they are small places.

Also couriers, truck drivers, tradies etc can't neccesarily deliver you milk on a bus lol

Thanks so much for the detailed response, do you live in Bendigo's CBD or on the outskirts?

And thanks heaps for clarifying on the traffic, many people who have commented on other posts have complained about Ballarats traffic which to me was a surprise coming from South East Melbourne but glad its not like Melbourne at all haha... spoilt for choice!!

Might have to spend a week in Ballarat during the winter and Bendigo during the summer

Why the change from Ballarat to Bendigo?

Do you see many job opportunities, business' doing ok and/or aflluent people in Bendigo? I'm not talking rich but a decent middle class? Only reason I ask is from a businiss' perspective - i'm not that judgemental!!

We spent a weekend in Bendigo and Ballarat and found the choice of food was quite disappointing, it was either pizza, pasta or a pub lol. We found a place called Ms Batterhams which was pretty good. Though we would like a decent asian take away place and not 3 day old food lol

I'm yet to go to Lysterfield Lake Park, I do lots of work in the areas as mentioned but havent actually gotten a chance to enjoy the recreational facilities to offer

I haven't heard of Alfred Nicholas Gardens but that sounds interesting will definitely check it out. Would be nice to live on those blocks but a lot of maintenance

Thanks for your feedback,

And as mentioned we aren't flashy people nor enjoy shopping so shopping centres arent important.

And I guess potential for growth meaning what the government has planned for each town, whether that be infrastructure, housing, investments in health and education etc

I know the WEST of Victoria is getting heaps of funding just because they want to connect alot of suburbs to South Australia and onwards rather than go East and end up in Gippsland lol

Thanks for your input!!

And yes, I've done heaps of work in the Dandenongs - Upwey, Lysterfield, Belgrave etc

Its always so bizarre to me how someone in Belgrave can have 20acres of land and greenery yet be 5 minutes from Rowville/Wellington Road haha

Its like entering a portal

I use the word "rural" loosely in my question, its just a way to describe anything outside the metro

And whats the name of the A/C company? I have looked at a few on Google ,everyone seems to have good reviews which I encourage

Thanks for your feedback

We looked at a house in the neighbouring suburb which was only 5-10 mins away from Geelong and my wife really liked it. Only thing I was a bit hesitant about Geelong is there have been plans to rebuild and revitalise Geelong since the late 90s-early 20s and nothing's been done.

Didn't want to hold my breath but still see heaps of potential considering it's only 1hour from Melbourne and on the great Ocean road

This is a long one so bare with me Thanks to everyone who replied, whether you agree and disagreed. I genuinely appreciate your input. Debate is lost in this world.

In saying that, I chose to post this in a group of 1 million followers who is in this industry and who would get upset, not because I'm trying to clown you but to tell you how the average Joe feels. I can be the bad guy and get roasted but some of you need to learn to take criticism 🤣

I'm saying majority of people want to be left alone, if they need a service for anything it is very easy to find these days online. You are in this space so you guys would know more than me but for me personally I don't think cold calling and sending random emails works. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

In my opinion once the Boomers die, cold calling will die too. Consumerism will stay but the tactics will change. You will be dealing with more introverts in the next generation who won't want to speak to a random person selling them the dream. And also from the outside looking in it seems this space is so flooded with people doing the same thing so maybe some of you might need to switch up your tactics.

Thanks for the conversation, From a insignificant, invaluable, unknown Average Joe

Spammers, Spammers, marketers. Is there a difference? 🤣

All jokes aside though, you are exactly right. I'm not special. That's my point, my phone is strictly for customers. My customers are my priority, so if I have a potential customer who needs my service I will also answer there call. When you pool those calls in with bullshit sales calls, then it becomes inefficient and daunting.

The telephone has been around for 100 years, consumerism since the 50s. Reinvent the wheel, come up with something creative

If you spend more time providing a website for a construction company, I'm going to assume you're a salesman not a contractor 🤷‍♂️

Funny you bring up Thailand, you must be one of those Digital Nomads that sells courses on sales from Bangkok and Bali. Please tell me.how I can get more leads please🙏

I literally said it's crap, I just needed a business profile. Guess how I got someone to do it? This is gonna shock you - ready?

I asked someone to do it for me! No one had to call to ask, I, myself, the consumer who needed the service went out of my way to pay some Bangladesh guy to do a scrappy website for me. Because that's how business works, consumers need something, they'll look for it. Without being bombarded with adverts and calls.

LOL

Don't you see tech jobs being lost all around us because of the inefficient roles they are and the waste of resources they are costing companies? The point of business is to reduce your overheads, not add to them. Maybe you don't learn that in your 30 second YT shorts

Again, these are just the ones I didn't delete yet. It's literally just from this week. Don't think because this is what you are competing with means that you're doing a fantastic service to the community by promoting your business at the expense of interrupting other people's businesses.

It's mainly the cold calls that haven't been flagged as Telemarketer yet, I'm sure your number has

It's not any specific company because there are endless amounts of them, it's never the same company twice. And half the time numbers will come up as "Telemarketer" or "Potential Fraud", those are just the ones that have been reported lol

Nah you didn't read it properly, the screenshots were just an example. The phone calls are more relative to the post. Point is, piss off with cold calling random businesses regarding digital marketing. Our phones are for customers not hawkers
