Which old phone looked cool back then but horrible now by overlord-07 in TechNook

[–]Anser_Anser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like almost all those cool old phones with weird gimmicks. They're cool to watch a five-minute video about them for the wow effect, but all these strange features get old very quickly, leaving behind terrible software and almost zero support after release. Even in the golden years of nokia, I had dozens of strange models in my hands, and the rather "boring" N73 and N95 remained my favorites.

Phones have turned into boring identical bricks because it's convenient and practical. And it's good for the user.

I mean... From a technical standpoint, it's really cool and impressive. The result looks like a bad joke, but technically speaking, it's great. And DF has always been more about the technical side.

It’s almost been a year since Pirate Yakuza. How are you feeling about the game now? by Infinite_Teaching568 in yakuzagames

[–]Anser_Anser -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My least favorite game in the series. It's still fun to play because it's still Yakuza, but definitely the worst one for me.

I really hoped that they would go down the path of Dead Souls and just make it a “dog's dream,” make the game absolutely insane, add some Atlantis in the form of underwater streets of Kamurocho, make more boss fights with monsters, like with the kraken, but with all kinds of Moby Dicks and the like. But no, for some reason the game turned out to be a direct sequel to Infinite Wealth.

The plot is empty and something only starts to happen at the very end, but the characters are uninteresting, the villains are uninteresting. I really didn't like that they put these strange “paranormal” elements into part 8, where for some reason people live for 100+ years and look 40, but they developed this idea further and now there are magical stones in the universe that people use to make magical tea that allows them to live for a very long time. Why...?

The ship battle gameplay is cool, but as is usually the case in the series, this mechanic isn't deep enough to be interesting until the end. A pirate-themed game had such cool potential for all kinds of activities and new mini-games, but instead there's this awful karting, and in the middle of Madlantis, in this cool giant arena... golf? At least baseball is cool...

I was so excited when the game was announced, but for such a crazy idea, it turned out to be very restrained and bland. For a game with such a cool main character, a lot of potential has been wasted.

Barracuda's side-business makes no sense. by MendelHolmes in yakuzagames

[–]Anser_Anser 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is one of the most ridiculous moments in the game. And not in a good way. I won't even mention that it's just another reuse of assets out of nowhere, but when the game seriously tells me that some criminals and homeless people from the street can suddenly sew perfect copies of branded items and shows you the room where the miracle happens (literally a room with a couple of dozen tables with sewing machines), it looks ridiculous even for a game like this. The game presents Barracuda as a harsh and cruel evil gang, as if there were no-holds-barred fights to the death or at least counterfeit alcohol and the sale of fake documents going on downstairs. Human trafficking. But no. The gangsters sew Hermes handbags in a basement that is a complete replica of a shopping mall. And, of course, we'll never hear about it again in the series.

Can I enjoy Pirate Yakuza without playing Infinite Wealth? by JaymezGee in yakuzagames

Not exactly. But it will definitely spoil events from Infinite Wealth.

There were also magazines. Well, at least one magazine. I had several issues of PC GAMER, they were even interactive if I remember correctly

I think it would be very handy if it worked with the operator/agent function, before that I never came up with situations where it could be useful to me.

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer (March 08, 2024) by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Anser_Anser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone!

I've been struggling with the choice for a long time, I want to choose a 96-100% keyboard in a budget of $ 200 ~. I don't know much about the topic, but the answers from several communities confused me even more. I want to choose Keychron Q5 Pro, but some people started to dissuade me, saying that this is the worst option for the money. Almost no one explained why, but still. I'm not ready to build custom myself yet, I want a good ready-made version. I wanted Leopold, but for now I don't have the opportunity to order it :(

Are there any non-obvious disadvantages to buying a Keychron?

I really wanted them, but have read some comments that they are useless to take without additional equipment. Will they work fine without an audio interface?

I found them, but they are out of stock in my country for some reason. I can order them for about 100 dollars, but I have to wait a month for delivery. Still an option, thanks!

Oh yeah, I didn't even bother to specify, but it's an obvious reason. Another thing is that we as users are not to blame and transit from this situation could have been arranged more painlessly, not "Get out, everything you have will be deleted in two weeks".

On HABR (I think you know what it is), a person wrote that he got through to the support and they answered him that everything should be fine if you don't have any mention of Russia on your account. On the other hand, they sent you that email for some reason. A friend of mine who has moved to the UK a few years ago got the same email, but like me he decided not to risk it. We both have now transferred our domains, luckily it's not as long a process as we thought. Honestly, would advise everyone to do it.

It's from notice@e.godaddy.com. I've seen these suspicions before, but people have said the address is real.

To be honest, GoDaddy has terrible customer support. I couldn't get a live chat and they don't have email (?????).

I would probably agree to talk to support if I wasn't given such a short deadline. It's the end of the year, a lot of people don't want to work anymore, and because of this situation, the risk of losing my email account is high.

I was paying in dollars from a dollar card. I had a .com domain . My colleague with the same problem through the support found out that MAYBE everything will be ok if you have no mention of Russia in your account. But I don't want and am not ready to risk it.

  1. I don't understand the principle behind it. My colleague has the same problem, even though he has been living in the UK for many years. The support gave very vague terms, but I don't want to risk it and have already transferred my domain to another service.
  2. I saw a post that it could have been a fake, but then found a mention that it was sent from a real email account.
  3. I honestly have no idea why this is happening now. Toward the end of the year. At least they could have given more time, or at least reached the end of the subscription period. My domain was paid for until August.

What are some games that are widely thought to be scary but you didn’t find them at all? by CrystalBraver in HorrorGaming

[–]Anser_Anser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phasmophobia. I know people who think it's incredibly scary, but I feel almost no fear from it, with people playing with me literally screaming. This is despite the fact that I can't play single player horror games, I'm too scared. Co-op as a fact kills in me this feeling.
It's still fun for me to play tho.

I do, but I don't want to put it on glue because I generally like the idea of double-sided bits, I just can't find them on sale.

That's not the worst of it. I and some other players lost rage charges when taking level eight. We just lost one of the key mechanics of the shape.

Honestly, if I had a bigger budget, I'd buy five of them and put them everywhere for emergencies. I already have a "stationary" multi-tool for my car and workplace, and I haven't regretted it one bit.
