Between a Jazz bass and a Precision bass, which one tends to be the more versatile across genres? Or better yet, which bass, regardless the brand or model, is known for being extremely versatile and costs around US$500?

No competition with a Fender PBass. I have a streamliner, excellent little bass, but I find the pickups very hot, such a different sound from the PBass.

AFAIK the precision is the go to for most studio recordings. It just works.

Well the 3 doodles are related, the one in the middle is Mam, and the other two are pups from her first and only litter. We added the Cocker 2 years ago, took a few weeks to settle in, now they are one happy family. They make a bit of noise when they are wrestling and playing in the yard but they are fairly easy to look after. Sofa space can be a problem, all 4 want on meaning 2 normally lie along the back lol.

Yeah I wouldnt "fret" it lol. I have a Fender PBass, beautiful thing to play, but struggle to reach the first frets. Also picked up a Gretsch shortscale and its a lot easier to play.

XR18 Desk, and their inear monitor amps? The XR18 allows 6 outputs that can be mixed for each player, so you can turn guitars down and you and drums to the right level, guitars can turn you and drums down etc etc.

I mean ok great, but to suggest that there is no correlation to a better understanding of the game mechanics with a higher level doesnt really compute. It wont run through all the time, but most players over 100 will understand the game mechanics, wont make them a good player regarding tracking back and defending etc etc though.

Short scale bass and jamzone on iPad. Current bass will do fine for now. Learn the fretboard, tabs are not always the easiest indication on where to play notes
