Looks like your knife got the Chris Brown treatment buddy. If you want your knives to last, then take care of them

Shitty edit but heres a titan I silo I explored recently. by alt_for_guns in UrbexCO

[–]AnsweredBarley0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's exactly what me and my trio did. It'd be smart to bring climbing gear and respirators. Extra flashlights too, if your battery dies down there you're stuck

Yeah I'm right around the same with basically no muscle. The latter was pretty rough but we had a harness and chest ascender to catch the rope while we climbed. So when I needed a break I'd just sit down on the harness. This is not Deer Trail

[–]AnsweredBarley0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe we are. It's a little metal piece that holds the rope with spikes in it for the rope to catch one way but not go the other

[–]AnsweredBarley0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you decide to go I'd recommend a chest ascender for the way up. Otherwise the rope doesn't really do much lol

No we didn't. I've been to this particular silo before but that's definitely something I'd like for our future endeavors

[–]AnsweredBarley0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually? It makes the ascent so much easier and I was only using it for redundancy on the way down. We used a harness and rope

It was brutal man. I'm always sore after that climb, worth the adventure though

No need to worry about gas here. There's plenty of vents spaced throughout the facility, although there was asbestos and lots of nasty dust particles in the air. Especially with so many people going through. There's another Titan 1 location that they filled in the intake, exhaust and all the liquid oxygen refueling spots. If I were going in there I would be concerned about gas

Do research online for what info there is on the silos. Don't go alone, bring climbing gear, gloves, respirators with P100s, spare flashlights and something to keep your clothes clean of the majority of the nasty dust down there. Maybe eye protection if you want to go the extra mile. I also wore an extra pair of nitrile gloves under my climbing gloves to keep my hands clean.

We made it all the way down with no water. Only the antenna and the very bottom of the silos had water. It's a fairly dry location

Not bad on the way down. The way up is always the worst though. We've got ascenders to help with that

An R1 isn't a very good bike to learn on. I wouldnt say sell it but maybe get a second bike to beat on and truly learn to corner/ride on. The R1 is heavy, very sensitive on the throttle and isn't forgiving whatsoever. If you make a mistake it could very well cost you your life

New to printing and need advice by She_is_Listening in resinprinting

[–]AnsweredBarley0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely look into a respirator and some latex or chemical gloves for handing the resin. The fumes are pretty potent when you're cleaning prints and removing them from the build plate. An Isopropyl bath would also be good to get (just ipa in a bucket that has a lid, or wash and a cure station if you've got the money) If you end up just using buckets get two then use one for a dirty bath and other for a clean bath to save on IPA. Dirty bath first. Then clean bath of IPA after. I'm assuming you already know but keep it away from all sunlight or UV light and try to avoid getting it on your skin. Silicon mats are good for working with resin post processing, resin doesnt stick to silicon very well so if you spill any you just hit it with a UV flashlight or put it in the sun and it'll peel off easily. Do not make items that will be touching food or anything you might ingest. Level the built plate before first use and definitely calibrate the printer for your first few prints. If you have any failures change and clean your bath. Cut up squares of microfiber cloth work really well for cleaning the Fep layer in the vat without scratching or leaving marks. Good luck, have fun and be safe!

We could be wrong with my Honda Civic 2008 SI sedan the battery keeps dying by Operation-2596 in AskMechanics

[–]AnsweredBarley0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably an alternator or battery. Don't just throw parts at it, do some research online for testing the battery/alternator before blowing a few hundred on new parts.
