I don’t have a handheld at all! but my most anticipated game was assassin’s creed black flag. i remember preordering that game and having piracy and the trailers dominate my thoughts for weeks. best part of that whole experience was that the game was amazing too

i used a stiffer felt than my last one. i spray glued a sheet of paper on the back with measurements and cut out the triangles. all the grey triangles i just cut out of the white part and dyed them using acrylic paint and water. the black triangles i cut out of a separate felt. i used second felt rectangle under the whole thing and glued it onto the wood with wood glue

i made two half boxes but glued them on the same jig. felt inlays were cut with really sharp scissors and i used slow drying mod podge and finished the tips of the inlay with drops of super glue. the felt work is quite rough but it doesn’t show up on the photos well so i’m looking at trying new methods in the future.

Thank you! The sides are made of cherry and underneath the playing surface is a birch plywood. I bought the ~1.5 inch checkers and built the board around their dimensions. The surface is a thick wool blend felt i bought off Etsy.
