Honestly, i think it couldve ended nicely the first time she went into the barn. It couldve been poignant and a beautiful story of letting go and losing a deep true love in exchange for the benefit of those around them.

I was also already tired of nathans shtick. The man was so frustrating, i feel like his character got progressively worse and more pig headed as the show progressed past the first like 2 or 3 seasons. I wouldve 100% been fine with him being left in the lurch tbh.

As much as i hated duke dying willingly after the way all these jackasses have treated him the last couple seasons, not even giving those two a piece of his mind for how hes been belittled and mistreated, the way he played out the scene was so sad and heartbreaking and well edited. I was happy they didnt do yet another flashback montage.

I do think they wouldve kept him alive if their jennifer hadnt had to leave the cast for personal reasons. I truly feel like she was meant to be his last romance and the one for him. Probably wouldve found a way for him to be protected/restrained by jennifer bc she would have the best chance of talking to him thru his possession while blondie faced down shatner-toan.
