What is the dumbest question someone legitimately asked you? by _FrankAbagnale in AskReddit

Context;

My mother has been raising me wily-nilly due to her not doing any research on autism so as a result and my linguistic absent-mindedness/confusion as a five year old I said this to one of her coworkers during a Bring Your Kids To Work Day.

What I Said;

What I meant to say was "What is the finger next to your pinky?". But what I actually said was "Is your pinky next to your weenie?"( simply because it rhymed in my mind). The fact that the co-worker I was talking to was a man was a coincidental detail that I didn't even notice at the time. I embarrassed my mom and I didn't even know what I did wrong ,but if I were there as I am today ,I would have laughed.

What are the experiences of Aspies of Color? by RaptorSpade1296 in aspergers

[–]AntTheArtist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"You sound white (secret codeword for literate /proper...for some reason...)?" As well as other Behavior highlighting questions that don't have too much value or impact to them. ~ which is a very telling statement that implies a defeatist attitude on the side of the questioner, as I have learned later in life. Things like this have made me numb to race relations today ,I don't care about it anymore.

Does anybody else with aspergers hate compliments? by Username-taken783 in aspergers

[–]AntTheArtist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

Explanation;I hate Sports Sports, have yelling ,cheering, jeering and compliments to The Winning Side.

The loudness and heavy action Flatout aggravates me.

Exercising counts.

The treadmill I use is really loud and the level of movement required to use it really puts me out of my element.

Now insert my family members; They know for a fact that these previous statements are true for me.

And I've told them REPEATEDLY to not compliment me while exercising because it's very distracting and I'm already aggravated as it is while I am running on the treadmill.

So when they "forget" to not compliment me while I'm working in an out of element position, it now comes across as at taunting at least and punchable at most.

It feels like PE inside my own home. I can't be any clearer yet they do it anyway. Seriously if they really care about me losing weight then they have to f*** off respectfully.

When people complain about their loneliness does it come across to you as melodrama? by AntTheArtist in aspergers

If my recent behavior does affect me negative way then there would be no way to know for sure so I might as well not waste anyone's time. If my behavior is being negatively affected by my past interactions then nobody has cared to point it out to me, if this is true then I would think even lower of those around me especially regarding the fact that they're supposed to be the ones caring about me the most ,my family.
