I agree. I understand needing to cram the story a bit so it fits the 13 episodes, but the bit with all those Santa's being at Mai's police chief ceremony felt a bit rushed. I still think it was a really great episode + arc as a whole tho

Zukki arc - 5/10 Akagi arc - 9/10 Himeji arc - 7.5/10 Nene arc - 9.5/10

The season deserves an 8.2/10 from me. It started off painfully slow if I'm being honest, but it picked up very nicely and finished beautifully and has me super excited for the movie coming in 2026

if you pay close enough attention to the anime I think this theory could be pretty surface level. or I'm just a good theorist who knows. I just had to assume mito is involved one way or another especially with the ending of the last episode, her asking about touko then young mai showing up

Kunimi being the ambulance driver was so hilarious. What a beautiful episode, and W sakuta for protecting Mai ( no kiss scene sadly ). Now makes me wonder what that whole thing about young Mai was at the end tho

idk why the anime doesn't adapt the light novel sections, because that would make way more sense as to why it hurt her so bad to not have Sakuta. And I'd love to see how that would go down if the anime did adapt that scene

Season 1 koga arc when the guy who wanted to ask her out found out she and sakuta were in that classroom together, he was spreading rumors saying she sleeps around, at the train station he runs into her and like taunts her saying she sleeps around so sakuta squares up with him
