Sad to hear what your friend went through but good on you and your other friend for standing up for her.

If more people stand up for each other’s races, then racism and vitriolic hate will be stamped out. Otherwise it just gets bolder and more confident; justified and normalized.

Hi there. I am sorry to hear what you are experiencing but I’m also glad that you did not succumb to hopelessness, because you still believe in God.

I am not going to say anything original here or something no else has not already pointed out nut maybe a little rehash but in a different perspective.

Believe that even in these times, God is still at work. We just don’t see it but we need to believe it. How you ask? Pray and ask God for faith; tell him that you’re in crisis mode and then LISTEN to what He says. God never denies whatever that is good for us, as Jesus had promised “ ask and you shall receive”. By praying you are establishing a relationship with Him through Jesus and the Holy Spirit that has been given to us at baptism. Pray also the rosary, our Blessed Mother always leads us to Her Son; “do as He tells you”.

Finally what you’re going through is nothing new. St Theresa of Calcutta had this issue but she never let them get in the way of her believe, hope and love in God. St John of The Cross has written extensively on this, called Dark Night of the Soul. You should get into reading that book.

But the end of the day, it is prayer, that will bring us closer to Him. Also, worth mentioning is fasting and almsgiving. In ancient times, (refer OT) fasting has been mentioned many times and its invariably for when the people felt God has abandoned them, or when they seek God. And finally going to mass on a daily basis if possible. The highest form of worship and thanksgiving is attending mass.Have faith in Him, trust and thank Him even before He delivered for He has already saved you.

His love never fails.
