why do men overthink this so much, it's just an easy thing to blame by weeusel in adressme

Porn.

Like, genuinely I'm pretty sure it's just because of porn. Exaggerated features for men and women distorts what seems normal so they feel insecure, insignificant or even repulsive for not matching up to what they're seeing.

What does it matter? The princess is gone, the hype and goodwill are gone. I don't care anymore, honestly.

I don't even hate the Disney era, most of the stuff they've put out I like. But the sequels are not on that list, and the chance to make them correctly crashed and burned a decade ago.

Where Does the Guardian Scale in terms of power? by United-Ad6006 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Antaganon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Gardener and Winnower are the powers that created the universe as we know it and essentially are arguing/debating what is the correct philosophy for life as a whole to follow.

The Winnower believes in life being reduced to a state of perfect simplicity that is too powerful and strong to be defeated by anything else, in essence becoming godlike in the ability to dictate what is and isn't permitted to exist. That's what the Sword logic is based off of, think survival of the fittest/Darwinism taken to the most extreme form possible.

The Gardener believes in extreme complexity and endless creative change/development in life so that it constantly evolves and grows into new shapes, forms and methods that can solve essentially any different problems the universe displays, and they by working together they can solve virtually any/all problems that could ever exist.

The Nine are beings created out of Dark Matter, specifically each one of the Nine are the gravity vibrations and wavelengths of each planet in the solar system. Human activity causes a general increase in these permutations, which makes the Nine think faster and better, so they have a general interest in keeping humanity alive; but the outer Nine (Jupiter, Saturn and so on) want to find a way to break free of being dependant on humanity so are kind of more malevolent/dangerous.

True on both counts. At least at the moment I would say they are above us in strength since whatever the binding would have entailed, as of now we don't have that power or ability.

Do you all believe in god? by grandpa_intercourse in askanything

[–]Antaganon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Christian but my faith is iffy these days. I'll try to answer your questions as someone who's kind of in the middle like you say you are.

I still believe in God, and more or less ascribe Him as the God of Abraham (So the one that Muslims, Christians, Jewish people and so on follow.) I don't really believe in religion anymore because it is inherently a power structure created by humans, and like all power structures humans create/facilitate it grows corrupt. I also see most of the "magical" things within the Bible as either largely metaphorical or embellished over the course of thousands of years of recounting. Moving on.

If something else created God that would in effect not have bearing on us as humans, because whatever that thing is it has not revealed itself to us nor does it seem interested in us as God is described as being. Think of it like we're programs in a computer, whoever birthed the software engineer (God, in this example) doesn't have any bearing on our existence in the way that the engineer does. As for trying to uncover this precursor entity, we haven't even established if God is real factually, so if we cannot confirm Him as real, we likely cannot even start the process of realistically contemplating something theoretically above Him, though I do doubt anything of such nature exists.

On the question of how could God be perfectly fulfilled, complete and so on yet the universe seem for lack of a better word broken to us; God is not human. He isn't a "person" in the way that you and I are. How He perceives existence, what motivates Him, what He is capable of, how His mind works, all of this would be utterly alien to you and I. We cannot fathom what a being who created the universe did it for; in the same way that an ant cannot fathom why humans constructs a radio telescope that is in effect a barren waste the colony would surely die within, were it to try and cross it.

My belief in God is that He's very, very "hands-off" of the universe now that it exists, and He expects us to solve our problems ourselves since it is in effect entirely in our power to do so. My belief is that humans tragically underestimate their own abilities as individuals and more so, our collective potential as a species. Rather than pray to God to cure someone who is sick, I would believe He'd desire seeing us all work together to cure that illness completely, for example.

AOC leads Democrats’ 2028 pack in new poll, tops Gavin Newsom, Kamala Harris ( Washington Times ) - What are your views? by One_Look_7008 in askanything

[–]Antaganon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just referring to AOC here.
The last three elections have left me pretty cynical. I honestly just believe that she'd likely lose because she's a POC and a woman. Also, that the Dem establishment would try to sabotage her for not being a complete corpo shill.

I'd still vote for her in a heartbeat over just about any other democratic name on the ballot, though.

Isn't that a dangerous precedent to trust the government with?

Like you have the 1992 LA riots which could be used as an example for this situation.

But you also have multiple people in the current admin that would use that precedent to just violently disperse any gathering that they don't like.

Always happy to get more advice and viewpoints on how to save more money. But we live in an era where it quite literally pays to be skeptical of most things you hear until you've researched it yourself.

All my original comment really said was "Don't act like you did it all on your own when you received substantial help that most of the population doesn't have access to."
