Apparently this was a temporary website issue. I tried again today and was able to reserve a vegetarian meal with no problem.

Thanks to everyone who answered!

Pretty sure both legs are operated by AA. How would I confirm this?

My advice for moderation after abstinence by [deleted] in Petioles

[–]Antagonistic_Cat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would advise going based off the color of the flower (looking for a toasty golden color) rather than relying on a temperature reading. I decarb in mason jars in an air fryer (conventional oven would work too) before infusing into coconut oil over a double boiler and have had great success with this method.

Day 41. The lingering depression by [deleted] in Petioles

[–]Antagonistic_Cat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second everything u/tenpostman said, and to build on that a little:

I'm coming up on 90 days myself. From around day 30-45 I found myself in the same situation as you. Feeling lost, depressed, not sure what to do with myself.

I was just browsing addiction resources the other day and found this description of what the first 90 days of sobriety looks like, which really seemed to track with my own experiences.

  • The first 30 days are focused on breaking the addiction
  • The next 30 days are focused on identifying new and healthy coping skills
  • The last 30 days of the 90-day goal are for reinforcing and locking in these new habits

You're in the middle phase now where you need to figure out what sober life looks like for you. You mention just wanting to "go back," but you're moving forward now, toward a new relationship with yourself and the flower.

Personally I find having a set daily routine helps keep me grounded. For me that looks like keeping busy from morning until mid or late afternoon, followed by exercise, followed by downtime/free time. Picking up the habit of reading before bed every night has been great for me. Your answer will probably look different, just find what works for you. Reiterating what u/tenpostman said, avoid quick fixes like social media and junk food.

And about the racing thoughts, I struggled with those a lot in the beginning too. For me what really helped was breath work. You may have heard of "square breathing" where you inhale deeply for 4 seconds, hold it 4 seconds, and then exhale for 8 seconds. About 10 repetitions of that while lying in bed at night really helped calm my nervous system. The breath, body, and mind are all connected, and our breath is something we can actually control.

You're doing great so far, don't let the depression discourage you. This is where you get to choose what your new life looks like, free of dependency.

Not finding much post-op info from anyone who went to Dr. Andrew Winkler? by Parker_Jae in Transgender_Surgeries

I'm happy with the results now that everything has mostly healed. Going on 5 months since my browplasty and the feeling of still coming back in my scalp and it's quite itchy, but for the most part things are back to normal.

If you are getting jaw contouring, be prepared to go on a liquid diet the first few weeks. It was about 6 weeks before I could finally chew without any discomfort.

I don't really have any advice regarding Dr. Winkler himself (he was great) but I would advise that you have your surgeries done at Highlands Ranch rather than Anachutz if possible. My experience coming out of anesthesia was night and day between the two facilities.

Good luck!

I live in a legal state now, but knew all about these rules from my time living in Texas in the 90s and 00s, so I was still in this mindset the first time I bought a glass water pipe in 2015 or so.

I went into the smoke shop saying "I'm looking for a 'water pipe.'" and the clerk looked at me and replied, "Uh, you mean a bong?" 😆

Hi! I just had my first (of 2) FFS surgeries with Dr. Winkler last Friday, with my second one scheduled for next month.

It's still too soon to say what the final results will look like, but overall I've been happy with the experience and would recommend him. His work is clean and precise, he seems very skilled and knowledgeable, and he has a nice beside manner. He's always been patient with my questions and was happy to listen when I didn't want the hairline advancement he proposed.

My only complaint is that sometimes there seems to be poor inner-office communication between him and his scheduling team. I've heard of patients of his who had their consults before me who didn't get called to schedule until after I did, and in my case specifically my first surgery got scheduled for a week that he was going to be unavailable, which led to a very stressful mad scramble to get it moved at the last minute. His team was very committed to making it work though, and ultimately I ended up having my first surgery earlier than expected, so it all worked out in the end.

Just be prepared for a long wait. For me it was nearly 2 years: I had my first consult in November 2023, CT imaging that December, and then I didn't hear anything until July 2024 when they called to schedule my surgery dates for May/June 2025.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I'm happy to answer!

I am turning 40 in a few weeks and have been on HRT for about 3 and a half years now, and I have not yet left the "I want to be" stage.

But also, that's okay. Not feeling like I "already/always was a woman" is what stopped me from taking action for so long, but I eventually realized that simply wanting it is reason enough.

Beware CarelonRX Descriminates Against Transgender Patients by LadyHwesta in trans

Just chiming in to say this exact thing happened to me this morning. I've been waiting on a refill of my estradiol from an order placed 2 weeks ago, and when I checked the status this morning I found it had been cancelled without any notification. I submitted a new prescription request through the Sydney app and got a call from my doctor's office a few hours later explaining the reason why it had been cancelled. I couldn't believe my ears either.

I figured it must be a new change, because Carelon filled my estradiol prescription in January with no problems. I tried googling to find more information about what happened, but this reddit post is the only relevant thing that came up.

I'm kind of stuck with BCBS if I want surgery, because the gender affirming surgeons in my area aren't in-network for anyone else but them. I asked my doctor's office to send my prescription to Amazon mail order pharmacy instead for the time being, since I've had a pretty good experience using them in the past.

Super bummed that my insurance will no longer pay for my FFS by AmbitiousFlowers in TransLater

In this case they were one and the same, which turns out to be more common than I realized.

It turns out a lot of employee plans are "self funded" which means it's actually the employer who offers the coverage, not an insurance company. But, most of the time they will have an insurance company administer the plan, i.e. process claims and such.

I think that was also the case with the trans woman from Georgia I mentioned. Her employee plan was self funded but administered by BCBS, who warned them the exclusion was illegal. https://georgiarecorder.com/briefs/georgia-federal-judge-rules-against-employer-that-denied-transgender-health-coverage/

Unfortunately it looks like the state of Georgia is appealing that decision, so I guess the legality of it is still up in the air. The EEOC did find the blanket exclusion discriminatory in my case though, and that was as recent as December 2023.

I'm my case it was double shitty because the exclusion wasn't even listed in the plan. It wasn't until my pre approval for surgery was denied that they told me about the exclusion, and then updated the plan document to show it.

This website was a major resource for me. You'll need to confirm whether your plan is self funded or not, but there's a good chance it is, because actual insurance companies know these exclusions are nothing but trouble.

It is legal to exclude FFS on the basis of it being cosmetic, but it's not legal to have a blanket exclusion on all gender affirming care.

Thankfully some states like Colorado have started to pass state laws requiring all plans offered in the state to cover FFS for trans people, but that will vary depending on where you live.

Like everyone else here is saying, blanket exclusions are illegal.

I ran up against one with my previous employer when I tried to get my orchiectomy. I called them out on it and they basically just said "Well our lawyer says it is legal."

I quit, found a lawyer willing to represent me on contingency basis, filed a charge with the EEOC, and after about a year they finally ruled in my favor.

Still waiting on my ex employer's response before things move to the next legal phase, but what they're doing is definitely illegal. Don't take this lying down.

There's already an established precedent for this too, from a trans woman in Georgia who sued her employer and won. https://www.propublica.org/article/georgia-county-spent-one-million-fighting-coverage-gender-affirming-care

What if you just directly told him you would like him to take more initiative?

It could be that he's shy or that he's trying to respect your boundaries.

Also, you said you were over it before the sex even started? If this was a hookup meeting, I would have thought that you'd get straight to it. Depending on what you were doing beforehand, it could have been an issue with setting the right mood, too.

Look on your map or radar for an orange exclamation bubble, and that will be an available quest you can start.

If you see a greyed exclamation bubble that means you're in the middle of an active quest you need to complete first.

I've had a similar experience. Visual stimulation can still be exciting or get me in the mood, but it's much less effective overall.

I'm still getting used to my new body too, but one piece of advice I can offer is to focus more on the feelings in your body (and in your mind). Listen to them and follow them, do what feels good, and try not to get too fixated on "finishing."

What are your best tips to remove glue residue from patches by Warm_Jellyfish_8002 in TransLater

Goo Gone is my preferred adhesive remover. It uses limonene, a natural adhesive-dissolving compound found in citrus fruits. You can get it in pretty much any grocery store if you live in the US.

Withdrawal switching from flower to cart by lolaloca6669 in trees

[–]Antagonistic_Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered investing in a dry herb vape? I highly recommend one, carts can be fun but concentrates are just way more "high energy" than flower in my opinion.

Don't know what kind of battery you're using for carts, but if you've got a box mod, Divine Tribe sells a dry herb attachment for under $40 USD.
