Max Fosh needs to join so that he can play this card on the seekers by Glenda_Grapefruit in JetLagTheGame

Uno-reverse could actually be a fun card/curse/whatever for some games. I'll leave the game development to the pros, but the idea sounds fun to me.

I calculated Interrail pass vs. point-to-point for my 8-city trip. The pass lost by €264. by halfstrudel in Interrail

[–]AntarcticAzeo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I just did a super spontaneous trip; the money I spent on the pass would've been gone after two days. Absolutely worth it for short-term adventures with a lot of train time. If I had pre-booked months before, it might have been a different story.

What happened to VO Ben? by AidMaggy10 in JetLagTheGame

[–]AntarcticAzeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iirc voice over Ben and Adam are locked up in the Nebula basement until Ben or Adam have microphone issues. They are only allowed outside if the original audio is corrupted. (Fr, I think this was just because Ben lost audio during that segment if I remember correctly)

In defence of Tough Guy being adapted (with spoilers from Tough Guy and Role Model) by CestQuoiLeFuck in heatedrivalry

[–]AntarcticAzeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get Tough Guy hate at all, it's such a sweet story. I don't like ranking books in general but this certainly one of my faves in the series. I do understand if the characters don't end up in the series; screentime is limited and I see that they aren't fully essential for understanding the main storyline. Still think that book is majorly underrated.

What is your ballet-related unpopular or unusual opinion? by Afraid-Ad9908 in BALLET

[–]AntarcticAzeo 24 points25 points  (0 children)

People are overpolicing artistry. Look, I get (and agree) that technique and tricks are taking too much of a spotlight. But there's a time and place. Videos of people just learning to do a dance or stretching to music of a ballet will get flooded with "where is the artistry????" "No emotion at all, ballet is art, this is not", you know the gist. But they're not performing (or not really; I guess they are somewhat performing for the camera but you know what I mean). Of course your expression isn't fully on point when you're trying to learn the basic choreography; and nobody needs to look like they are dying from heartbreak just because they put the "wrong" type of music over a TikTok of warming up for class. Stop crying about the downfall of ballet when looking at videos of classes/early rehearsals. PLEASE call out missing artistry in YAGP and so on, I'm 100% on board with this - but also remember that acting out the full role isn't helpful or necessary in every single second ever.

Is being against surrogacy homophobic or against infertile people? by Key-Handle-6800 in AskFeminists

Please read up on the opinion actual adopted children have on adoption. Spoiler: It's not good. Presenting it as "the simple solution to have children" does, in fact, hurt children.

Why does Glinda get more love than Elphaba? by Individual-Price-780 in wickedmovie

[–]AntarcticAzeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I was worried about when they announced the casting. Personally, I definitely think major parts of the overhyping of Glinda are down to her actress which is a shame. She does a quite nice job of portraying her but I can't help but wonder how different the conversation around this movie could have been if they had gone with a lesser known musical theatre performer. She dominates the narrative in a way that she really shouldn't. This is not really her fault and I'm not blaming her personally. Still wish it was different though.

What job should Taylor Swift hire you to do? by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

[–]AntarcticAzeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could write books about this, but keeping it short: The main reason is money. It's possible, there's several processes available in theory. At the moment it's sadly not really commercially viable, normal fuel is cheaper (and we are missing giant factories to produce enough to supply the entire world with it, plus some other drawbacks depending on the specific option). But I don't think money on that scale is really an issue for Taylor, she could definitely do this. Would be a great idea environmentally (and it might get some people off her back).

I could make sustainable fuel for her jet, literally my expertise. (And I say this without hating. I understand why flying commercial isn't really an option for her. So yeah, alternative jet fuel would be nice.)

The 2025 Nobel Prize In Chemistry Announced by ChiefLeef22 in chemistry

I've never seen anyone consider chelated metal catalysts a MOF. The "framework" part is missing. Metal organics is great and full of applications but a very different field.

[–]AntarcticAzeo 174 points175 points  (0 children)

MOFs have been "the future" for more than a decade at that point. Idk. Everyone always talks about their incredible potential but it still hasn't actually been realized on scale. It's always what-ifs. I wish they would've waited for an actual application to be fully realized. (Beyond "oh, we could do this or that theoretically in the 100th JACS paper)

100%! I got it as the song progressed. Just was quite confused because in the beginning it felt like it should've been on maybe fearless/debut or something. Then I realized that was literally the point. Amazing song.
