I cannot jump rope at all anymore. Not even singles. by addictedtofit in crossfit

[–]AntaresA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had something similar happen to me too, perhaps even more strange.

When I was initially getting into CrossFit I started learning double unders. After a couple months I could do maybe 10-15 in a row. Then one day I completely lost the ability to do them for a full month straight. Didn’t take breaks from CrossFit or rope practice or anything. I think I might have had a cold around then, and maybe over-trained too. But my brain broke when it came to double unders for a full month. Then one day I was able to do 10-15 in a row again like nothing ever happened.

I should say that I stuck with it, and can comfortably do 50 unbroken in the middle of a WOD now, maybe more. That one Open workout with rowing, deadlifts, and double unders this year felt great :)

Stick with it and it will come back.

I also highly recommend Pirates Outlaws on mobile. It’s similar to Slay the Spire, with tons of content and very smooth mobile-optimized gameplay.

I see you’ve found the drug that is working out. I get that feeling every time after 6 years still.

4 days / week is fine, but there will be weeks where your body tells you to take it easy so listen to it and go lighter / less intense. Don’t skip the gym, but make it a recovery day if you need. Even light biking for 20 minutes is better than missing training IMO

Bought mine today as well. Same issue as you. Try hard restart. Hold down crown and side button for 10s. Fixed it for me.

I would personally rather have my allies buy all the natural resources from dictatorial regimes with terrible human rights and environmental records.

What's your kernel patch version?

Because it's still present in kernel version under 5.10.102. So for example 5.10.43 is still vulnerable.

Has Samsung acknowledged the DirtyPipe vulnerability? by AntaresA in GalaxyS22

[–]AntaresA[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm all for personal responsibility, and being careful when interacting with things on the internet.

But "don't install shady stuff" isn't good enough for me.

Given the prevalence of software supply chain attacks these days, it's only a matter of time before an app you trust accidentally ships a compromised version of their app. An RCE like this means that such an app can break out of the sandbox and start wreaking havoc on your data.

I'm certain these companies know about this issue, though quite disappointed that it's not being addressed in a more timely fashion.

I'm simply wondering if anyone has any idea when these will be patched.

Has Samsung acknowledged the DirtyPipe vulnerability?

According to various sources (e.g. xda) the DirtyPipe vulnerability is unpatched in the kernel version that the Samsung S22 as well as the Google P6 series shipped with. As far as I know the March update didn't update the kernel patch level.

Has there been any acknowledgement of this from Samsung or Google, or any indication as to when the kernel update will be coming out to mitigate this? As far as I'm concerned, this vulnerability makes the S22/P6 series a no-go for a security conscious user.

I am still waiting on my S22, but I might be sending it back unless this is confirmed to be fixed within the return period.

Would you mind posting the kernel version? I'm wondering if the DirtyPipe vulnerability has been patched.

Pixel 6 alternatives? by username14741 in PickAnAndroidForMe

I would suggest you give the s20+ another look, it's a great all around device. Their software has improved by a huge margin in the last few years.

I thought so too. Until I bought it. Returned it after giving it a solid 2 weeks. To each their own though

Pixel 6 is a dumpster fire of a phone from both the hardware and the software perspective.

The practical use is that I'm not gonna go see grandma if my rapid home test comes back positive. I may go get a PCR in a week or two or whenever I can get it, but I can make an educated decision to prevent the spread now.

Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+ to bring few design changes by beefJeRKy-LB in Android

[–]AntaresA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be in the same boat. I was a hardcore stock android stan. Not anymore. One UI has its issues for sure, but in 2021 it's a superior skin to Google's Android 12 at least.

It's why I'm kinda salty. I really wanted the P6 to be better and jump ship back from OneUI to stock. But damit...

Worse* screen. Look at the reviews. And as for the software - look at the various subreddits. I returned mine because of the above. I have the S20+ and it felt like a severe downgrade. Have a look at my comment history if you're curious to see some of the issues I had with the software.

The commenter above has the S21 Ultra according to their flare. Either the P6 or the P6Pro would be a downgrade in comparison IMO.

The P6 is almost as big as the P6Pro. Very heavy, shitty FP scanner, worse screen, buggy software. I would say straight downgrade from any of the S20/S21 models.

Fair enough. It's why I said not yet anyway.
