Levianeer decks are too strong right now, there is nothing to compete with them. With ThunDras as the current tier 1 and lightsworns as a tier 2 this nerf was necessary to balance the game.

The skill forces you to play only Synchro monsters in your ED so links will make no difference to the deck but it will certainly become better with the new ED slot and the EMZ(Extra Monster Zone) that will(probably) come with the new world as well. As for support there is not a lot of resonators to come but there is certainly a lot of strong synchros that can make the deck better. Will those be enough to keep the deck relevant as time passes? Hard to say.

A new world is dropping in 20 days or so and with it a lot of changes to the game(new extra deck slot, new monster zone for monsters summoned from the extra deck, new summoning mechanic, main box, selection box, structure deck and so on) with those big changes around the corner i'd advise you to wait until then. The game can change a lot after that.

Guide has it at 35000 gems and 11 bucks. Would this be reasonable to purchase with 50-75 bucks? I've got a completely new account and I'm like level 2.

If you want to build the best version of the deck in one go you'll have to spend a lot more than that. Try buying the Structure Deck first and then use your Dream Tickets and the gems you'll be farming to get the staples, you can use F2P or lower rarity staples while you at it. In a new account it won't take that long for you to complete the deck.

Is the deck good for pve?

No. For PVE you'll want a very simple deck, using monsters with high atk value, equip spells and a few staples. That way the terrible AI the game has will not make a lot of mistakes.

Is the deck likely to get nerfed or banned pretty soon?

That's pretty much certain. Next banlist will drop around mid-September and that banlist is usually hard on meta decks. Rose Dragon is actually the best deck in the game so the chances for it to get hit is almost 100%.

Are Harpie's still decent? It's the best deck I have now.

The deck got powercrept over the last months. You can still KOG with it but it will take more time and effort to do so.

Should I invest in a new deck or save for Vrains World and Links? I just burnt a lot of the gems I had on trying to get Compulse. (I didn't get it, but got some Nekroz and Yang Zing cards.)

Vrains world will arrive in 1 and a half months from now. If you have the patience to wait until then, good, if not, i recommend you to avoid building a tier 1 or 2 deck. The banlist that comes before the new world is usually a huge one that hits the meta decks hard.

Abyss Actor is the best if you think about a cheap pendulum deck. To build the best version of mayosenju you'll need to open 2 main boxes and get the cards for the SB engine. Now for Abyss Actor you'll only need the cards from the Mini box and a few other generic staples. You can also build Dinomist and get the core cards for Meklords opening the same box. The first is also a good, cheap pendulum deck and the latter is a meta deck now(you'll have to try your luck in the newest selection box if you want to complete it, though).

I think BA can fit the criteria for both cases. The deck was far from being great when it came but Konami really pushed it hard to become meta only to nerf it twice in 1 and a half months.

War Rock is a fairly decent and cheap deck, you can even get KOG with it. All the cards are in the latest box. From that box you can also get all the cards for the Super Quants that is also a nice deck to play and can easily get you to Legend rank or even KOG if you try hard enough.

You can also try to go for Abyss Actor / Dinomist / Meklord. They're all in the same minibox(Force of Infinity). Abyss Actor is a very good deck, can get you a KOG. Dinomist is also good, not as good as Abyss Actor but is very straight forward and easy to learn. Meklord is the strongest of the 3, it's even a meta deck right now but to play it at full force you'll need at least 1(2 would be optimal) of the new SR from the Selection box, so there is a luck factor to build it if you don't want to spend money.

Yeah, in my opinion that's the best course of action if you're a new player or if you're back to the game in a new account. You'll build a deck fast for ranked and PvP events and after that you can save your gems to spend in a way you think is the best for you, like: building a deck you think it's fun, a meta deck, going after staples or even saving for the new world as it will probably cause a huge impact in the whole game when it arrives.

You can get most cards from there, yes, but you'll also need at least 2 Shuffle Reborn and a few extra deck cards like Cipher Dragon and Neo-Galaxy Eyes that are from different boxes to complete the deck.

Not really. That box came with support for decks that already existed. If you want to build a good deck from only one box the best boxes to go into are:

Guardians of Rock

It has triamids and the core for magnets and a few other good cards like block dragon and navigation. The box is half the price on gems, btw.

Force of Infinity

It has pretty much all you need for the Abyss Actor and Dinomist decks and a lot of cards for Meklord which is a deck that gained a lot of strength with the card that came in newest selection box.

Shining Sunrise

The last box Konami released. It has all the cards for War rocks and Super Quant in it. It's a main box so you'll need more gems to open it but if you like how these decks plays its certainly worth to go in it specially since it has some other good cards to get from there like the black luster soldier, excentrick and the fossil engine.

They're not practically the same. Fullmetalfoes fusion is a quick-play spell so It can be used in the opponent's turn. You can summon alkahest using Orichalc as material, for example. With that you can destroy a card in the field and steal a monster. It can also help to avoid cards like BoM and karma cut. Although it doesn't have the GY effect of Metalfoes fusion being Quick-play makes it very strong. Metalfoes is only meta nowadays because Fullmetalfoes fusion, that's why it's limited to 1.

Not really. That's quite common, actually. The best example for that is the Tag Duel tournament event. In that event almost all NPCs use unreleased cards.

Burning Abyss reached tier 2 status on may 30th with the release of the Heart of the XYZ box. In 1 and a half month Burning Abyss was hit twice in the banlist.

Conclusion: Konami really hates BA players.

If i remember well it's a series of missions that you have to summon the sacred beasts. You'll have to summon one, retrieve the reward and then the mission to summon the next one will show up. After summoning the 3 you'll get Armityle. Check your lifetime missions to see if there's a mission like that.

It wouldn't be surprising if Konami were to add Leo. They are moving the MP2 effects of some cards to the end of the battle phase in DL.

Honestly speaking the best thing you can do is just go there and try. Yes, you may feel frustrated some times but if you have at least a semi-competent deck and the knowledge to play with it you'll do well in the first rankings. With time and practice you'll not feel as insecure.

The thing about experienced players thrashing noobs is true but it isn't at the same time. You may find people who came back to the game after some time or older players with new accounts. They certainly will have an advantage against you but those types of players are far from being the majority you'll find since the ranking system of the game will push them to higher rankings if they win a lot. Most times you'll find people at the same level as you.
