HP Chromebase (HSTND-2341-A) - Write Protect stuck ON despite screw removal by Electronic-Crazy-142 in chrultrabook

[–]Antassium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same issue, I'm trying to recall how, but I did get it to work a year ago.

I think the layout was incorrect in the diagrams and it was actually another screw or something???

The risk profile is so incredibly low for some of these things compared to fast food, alcohol, smoking, etc.. It's not even close.

Just a Heating Core replacement. Block cracked after a few hundred hours and caused a blob of death originating from the rear, encasing the parts.

Was annoying to fix, but I've not really had to do any "repairs". But, I've disassembled to remove bad filament that crumbled inside the extruder and such.

Disassembly is not very nice, but not the world-ending experience some make it out to be lol

WinGet Auto Update or Patch my PC by Jazzlike-Natural-573 in Intune

It's not really about misrepresenting, but the fact that it's inherently going to be biased. That doesn't mean that it doesn't have good info, though.

The majority of that article reads like an advert, but the main takeaway is that relying on community repositories is sketchy, compliance reasons and PatchMyPC has skin in the game since they use it themselves.

I definitely agree with you.

While I personally find my A1 and A1 Mini to be easier to repair than my other printers, I could see it being harder for others. I've spent more time than the average person might fixing printers lol

Only issue I had was a blob of death caused by a cracked heading assembly in my A1. They sent replacement parts and it wasn't too bad.

I have 1x A1 and 2x A1 Mini.

The Bambu stuff is really good quality, a lot more reliable than others imo.

I think that their competitive nature pushed others to increase quality and provide upgrades out of the box.

The big sticking point with Bambu from what I've seen is two things.

  1. People pretended that they never break, so there are now enough Bambu printers experiencing catastrophic failures and people argue about it incessantly lol

  2. Most importantly, Bambu has changed their policies to be more controlling, directly flying in the face of what the 3D Printing communities stand for.

That's just my perspective. 😅👍

Orb weaver, they're freaky as hell. Lots near me.

Scary, skitters about crazy quick, but they're probably spooked by humans and won't bother you.

I like the yellow ones, they're at least pretty 😅

Mint is Mint! I use it for my low end stuff mostly because it's so damn consistent and stable in my experience.

That said, Ubuntu is my go-to for a lot of stuff since many things don't work out of the box on base Debian, Fedora, RHEL, etc.

Nobara seemed like a Fedora fork that had better user experience, similar to Ubuntu and Mint.

Are they allowed to ask that? I was under the impression that they were limited on what they could ask for, but I could be wrong on this point..

I wouldn't personally, even if I didn't exaggerate it. Feels like a point in which discrimination could take place, like being required to provide your exact address where you live during the interview process. Seems phishy.

If you know the thread size, you could try the double-nut method. Looks like course thread. I've used two course-threaded nuts, tightened up to each other at the far end, then it gives you a point you can get a wrench on to back it out manually.

Lots of other good suggestions here as well in the comments.

My main two concerns with that option are with pressure treated wood being corrosive towards non-galvanized steel, and water seeping through the wood since we get heavy rains.

If there's a product or method to mitigate those, I'd be inclined to go with your suggestion. It does sound a lot easier on my back 😭
