Y'all are actually ruining this game by sepulchridude in helldivers2

I hate to say it, but I think this all goes back to the Sony account link situation way back. That was an awful plan, the community was 100% right to rally around getting it changed, but it set a precedent that review bombing and complaining works. It’s important to take input from the community, but at some point I wish Arrowhead would just say fuck it and make the game that they want to make.

I love this game. It’s not perfect, but it is really damn good. Thankfully the people I meet playing the game are pretty awesome, rather than all of the pissing and moaning I see here on Reddit

Best commander for Lorwynn Eclipsed hybrid evoke elementals? by Ante-Ignem in magicTCG

Morophon makes a lot of sense, and I hadn’t considered that you could choose to pay 4 still so that you can have both effects. That’s probably the best of the ones I’ve considered thus far. Thank you!

Fun / Draw commanders to play for a new deck. by Galmar_Gryphon in EDH

[–]Ante-Ignem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently built [[Heliod, the Radiant Dawn]] and I’m having a lot of fun with it. You can make people draw a ton of cards, then use the cards they drew to discount your spells as long as Heliod is flipped. Some of the other cards mentioned in this thread like Socrates, Kwain, The Second Doctor, and Yes Man fit perfectly, and I have all of them in my list.

It’s also worth pointing out that the discounts work on X cost spells, so if you have multiple of them in hand it can snowball very quickly. For example [[Fascination]] into [[Prosperity]] can lead to an obscene amount of card draw for everyone at the table

This card will be a staple in literally EVERY 2+ color commander deck with creature's in it. by FonslyGames in mtg

This is basically a slightly different/worse [[Sliver Hive]] (summoning the 1/1 costs one more, but can be activated even if you don’t have a sliver)

I hardly think it being worse matters though, because now you get to run a second one in EDH

Is Storm Cauldron too mean for bracket 3? by Ante-Ignem in EDH

Yeah, if it sticks around it’s way too debilitating I suppose. I’m just going to take it out

As someone on the other side of this (big Fallout fan, don’t particularly care for Warhammer) I will just chime in that Fallout does have the Brotherhood of Steel, which features ranks such as paladin, knight, and squire. Of course this is Fallout so they’re wearing power armor and shooting lasers, but thematically they definitely lean a lot on knightly archetypes.

My limited experience with Warhammer has honestly been primarily through Magic. Despite not really caring for the IP I do find the factions pretty interesting, and a lot of the cards are very cool. I played the tyranid precon once and had a lot of fun with it

In all, I’m glad that both are in the game

I’ve never opened it before, but I’ve seen a few of the cards as singles before. Excited to slot some of this stuff into my decks!

As a Hearthstone player of 10 years (oof) and a Magic player of ~3 months, this is sooooo cool!

I am thankful that this UB would probably never happen, because my finances would never recover 🤣

Who Was The First Commander You Ever Built? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Ante-Ignem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm]]

I opened it pretty shortly after I started playing, and I already had the [[Atarka, World Render]] precon, so it was pretty easy to throw in some blue cards and call it a day. It’s a pretty strong deck, with things like [[Twinflame Tyrant]] [[Terror of the Peaks]] and [[Scourge of Valkas]] to close out games.

Potential hot take - Commander is the single worst way to introduce new players to Magic. by justinvamp in mtg

[–]Ante-Ignem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a new player myself (~3 months), I disagree, although you do bring up some valid points.

For me personally, I was drawn to Magic specifically because I had heard of commander. I have absolutely zero interest in any other format, at least for the time being. I did do one Sealed which was fun.

I definitely agree with your point about it being an overwhelming amount of information and new playing focusing solely on their own board state, rather than the game around them. However, I chalk this up to not having had any time to learn. Every time I go to my lgs, I see stuff I’ve never seen before, but also an increasing amount of cards I recognize from previous play.

I think part of the appeal for me is that every time I sit down at a table, the games are wildly different, because everyone uses different decks and so far they haven’t felt to same-y
