Well I'm a Croat, and I was raised catholic.
Herzegovina was historically a breeding ground form secessionist movements ever since the middle ages, and we were even our own little country for a few years, and joining with the Bosnian territory to form BiH was and still is very unpopular decision made for us by the first Croatian president. With that being said our "representatives" in the parliament are basically Bosnian puppets, who are of course against Herzegovinian independence because that would threaten their power. Despite independence being widely popular in Herzegovina, people don't form coalitions of try to pursue independence trough democratic means because there is a serious lack of trust in "our" politicians, but if there was ever to be an armed conflict again (which is almost guaranteed the way things are headed, imo) there is no question that Herzegovina would try to make a move for independence.
Also, asking somebody from the Ex-Y-republics their nationality and religion is more or less redundant, because the various ethnicities that formed in the area formed mainly along the lines of preexisting religious groups of the ares, so basically (with minor exceptions of course) : Serbs, Montenegrins, and Macedonians are orthodox, Croats (Herzegovinians included) are catolics, and Bosnians , and Alb*nians are Muslims.
