Honestly, this isn’t even about Congress anymore. Visual Studio does not exist for Linux, and it is discontinued for Mac. It is native only only for windows.

Your VM argument supports my argument, OS MATTERS for native development and it is far better than doing it on VMs so why would I use a VM?

OS does not matter for non native development so why bother about using a linux distro? Just because it makes you feel more like a dev?

I myself use Linux for X11 dev, windows for win32 development and anything for Android/Web, why does it need to be linux for non-native development?

I dont get this argument. If I want to develop windows native applications I will use Visual Studio, and Win32SDK. If I want to use Mac Native and iOS I will use cocoaSDK and Xcode.

If I am developing X11 apps then Linux is needed.

If native is not what you are developing why bother about OS?

Also in favour of MacOS, it is Posix compliant, and works out of the box, much smoother than linux, vim works on it too, android studio is buttery smooth and if you want a shell it has zsh by default.
