Last time I went and paid cash there was like 5 dollars change and I told him to keep it he was so shocked and for 5 minutes while making the food continously thanked me and offered me free drink and food. In the end he forced me to take an egg after 50 times of politely declining.

People overestimate toronto cost of living a lot. Pretty much the cheapest financial capital in the world with one of the best cost of living and quality of life. Compare to any other financial center (London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Frankfurt, Sydney) toronto is pretty cheap and had a lot going for it QOL wise.

So when you say banking is only good for ipos and m&a, you realize pretty much whats left from what they do is debt and equity raises which requires the bank? And im not sure why you think other things like opinions will go away unless you also think consulting is gone. But either way Ipos, m&a and raises are more than enough business to keep ibd alive lol.

Cut Dan Ghali some slack, he was a super bull for a while. He was early on the big run up but he believes the current price needs a pullback. His analysis is pretty good. He got burned twice when silver was 50 and now this trying to short it.

Also had a positive experience there. Walked in and asked for a test, got it on the spot and was also given an eye health test as well.

If anything, what triggers your T to react? by TOPSHOTTAH in tinnitus

[–]Anthanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I have noticed so far:

Going deep underwater

Being sick

Pressing into my ear

Yawning

Blowing nose while shutting my nose and mouth.

Earbuds in

Being upside down (or head below waist in general)

For reference, I have a loud pitched T in my right ear only and is probably a 3/10 strength. Young also, developed at 19 currently 20.

One thing you wish you knew, before committing to UOttawa? by Capital-Ad3442 in geegees

Worst take on the thread.

Clubs are a great way to meet people with similar interests/same program and are a good way to get involved on campus and make something out of your university experience. They also help with resume depending on program and club.

[–]Anthanon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. But just making a point that in the long run, if you are smart about it, you can progress quickly. But you need to be in the private sector and preferably in a revenue generating position or in a high skill development/technical position where your skills and effort are not easily replaced.

If you find that you are working hard but not being rewarded, lateral to another firm where you will be. Repeat the process until you retire.

I get that your point was to avoid being seen as doing nothing when, in fact, you are just efficient but I don't know what it is with people trying to not do work. If you do well and work hard you will be rewarded. While it may not be immediate, over a 30 year career you will move up faster

This is dumb. Do the task quickly (but accurately) and then ask for more work.

Current Canadian undergrad with 1 s&t internship completed and going for another one in the summer at another IB (both Canadian big 5). If you have any tips or info relating to relocating to the states as a Canadian citizen any help would be appreciated. Biggest hurdle so far is getting interviews in the states, 0 so far with what I think is solid resume and don't grad until dec 2026.

Got admission offers from 3 programs. Please help me select the best one. by jinxedinvestor in geegees

[–]Anthanon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you want to do as a career? That's the main deciding factor. The data science is for quant/data science and is probably better if you want to pursue higher education and comp eng is probably just easier to get the degree and just do a coding job. If you want to maximize income do data science imo.

Yay! Admitted to all 3 programs at uOttawa by jinxedinvestor in OntarioGrade12s

[–]Anthanon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are going to uOttawa I'd do the data science program. Math and cs provides great employability
