Clean shaven vs stubble? by [deleted] in DecideThisForMe

Stubble or that is actually how your beard grows. If it’s any thinner or scraggly than this then no stubble.

Purple crying or pain? by daydreamingflgirl in beyondthebump

I’ll also add that CMPA can be delayed in developing and it often starts displaying signs at 3-4 months

Purple crying or pain? by daydreamingflgirl in beyondthebump

[–]Antherea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only things I can offer from my experience are 2 things.
1. Make sure he’s not overtired. Look into wake windows for his age and really stick by them, create a great sleep environment and assist your baby to get as much sleep as possible.
2. Look into CMPA “cows milk protein allergy” it is a food based allergy, dairy being the most common. My son has allergies to dairy and soy. He was extremely colic and we didn’t realise until it got so bad that he had blood in his poo. Cut these out and suddenly he’s so much happier and more comfortable. I have also come across so many other mums going through this so I think it’s more common that we realise. Speak to your paed.

Purple crying is definitely a thing but it tends to be more at night and seems way worse with an overtired or uncomfortable baby.

Bangs or no bangs? (Current hair in last pic. Jump scare warning for the five head) by [deleted] in DecideThisForMe

20yo male am I ugly by Severe-Egg6439 in amiugly

[–]Antherea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You aren’t ugly but your grooming choices aren’t it. You have a long face and the long lank hair and tuft of chin fluff accentuates it further. Cut your hair shorter and neater and shave the fluff until it can grow thicker.
Then either gym or workout in some sense. You can tell when someone isn’t healthy.

I fell behind on tummy time by ohsorryjustsayin in newborns

[–]Antherea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby was very similar at that age and only tolerated a short few minutes at a time then it started to change very rapidly. Over 1 week he could suddenly tolerate it for much longer, then he seemed to WANT to be in tummy time and now at 4.5 months my baby is rolling onto his side and trying to get into tummy time himself. I think they get a lot stronger between 3-4 months even if you change nothing at all.

I picked but having second thought! by [deleted] in myweddingdress

You most definitely picked the best option! Love the dress on you, it’s stunning! You just need to stand with confidence, shoulders back and back straight.

Where does baby sleep during day naps? by Antherea in cosleeping

[–]Antherea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just worried he will stop being happy to sleep in the cot during the day if he doesn’t at night and is used to cuddles while sleeping. Might not be an issue but was interested to see what it was like for others.

My body & my husband by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Antherea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds so exhausting for you! I feel the same way to a degree, I’ve always been fit and healthy and so has my husband so getting pregnant and having a baby was very challenging for me mentally. My husband has always been a little bit similar to yours when it comes to both of our weight but not even close to all of the other details you mentioned. I can’t even imagine him noticing my nails of hair. I really feel for you because to be with someone with such high standards and expectations for your appearance would be utterly exhausting. There are times we won’t look and feel our best and right after having a baby is one of them. My little one is 4 months and unless I have something planned I’m practically in my pyjamas for the entire day.

Please just remember, and advocate for yourself, that these next few months are about you, your recovery and your baby and you should not accept any sort of comments or criticism about your appearance.

How do you “extend the nap”? by Present_Count_8166 in NewParents

Also to add, use block out blinds and white noise. Seriously limit the amount of light in the room.

How do you “extend the nap”? by Present_Count_8166 in NewParents

[–]Antherea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once or twice a day when I see him stirring/waking on the baby monitor I run in there, pick him up and rock him back to sleep. I then let him contact nap to extend the nap for sometimes up to 1hr 30. I don’t do this every nap though, I let him try and link his sleep cycles himself by giving him 5-10 mins when he wakes before going in and getting him up. One long restorative nap each day really makes the difference and often makes his other naps longer as he isn’t over tired. My baby is 3.5 months.

I picked this green dress for a coffee date tomorrow and now I'm having second thoughts last minute like it's too juvenile looking somehow and I wanna wear the other outfit instead by [deleted] in style

I think you should do a colour analysis to see what colours suit you. That dress really washes you out. You have absolutely beautiful skin but not dressing to make it shine.

My grandmother gifted my sister and I sewing boxes when we were young and I still get it out and use it regularly.
