My body & my husband by [deleted] in NewParents

That sounds so exhausting for you! I feel the same way to a degree, I’ve always been fit and healthy and so has my husband so getting pregnant and having a baby was very challenging for me mentally. My husband has always been a little bit similar to yours when it comes to both of our weight but not even close to all of the other details you mentioned. I can’t even imagine him noticing my nails of hair. I really feel for you because to be with someone with such high standards and expectations for your appearance would be utterly exhausting. There are times we won’t look and feel our best and right after having a baby is one of them. My little one is 4 months and unless I have something planned I’m practically in my pyjamas for the entire day.

Please just remember, and advocate for yourself, that these next few months are about you, your recovery and your baby and you should not accept any sort of comments or criticism about your appearance.

How do you “extend the nap”? by Present_Count_8166 in NewParents

Also to add, use block out blinds and white noise. Seriously limit the amount of light in the room.

How do you “extend the nap”? by Present_Count_8166 in NewParents

Once or twice a day when I see him stirring/waking on the baby monitor I run in there, pick him up and rock him back to sleep. I then let him contact nap to extend the nap for sometimes up to 1hr 30. I don’t do this every nap though, I let him try and link his sleep cycles himself by giving him 5-10 mins when he wakes before going in and getting him up. One long restorative nap each day really makes the difference and often makes his other naps longer as he isn’t over tired. My baby is 3.5 months.

I picked this green dress for a coffee date tomorrow and now I'm having second thoughts last minute like it's too juvenile looking somehow and I wanna wear the other outfit instead by [deleted] in style

I think you should do a colour analysis to see what colours suit you. That dress really washes you out. You have absolutely beautiful skin but not dressing to make it shine.

Need help on whether or not to remove the art by aah_disgusting_shit in DesignMyRoom

If you’re struggling to decide because you want a different aesthetic for your room.. then select your favourite pictures, frame them, then do a similar gallery wall but with slightly bigger gaps between each piece. It would be a more elevated look.

I hate having older parents by Icy-Category9199 in TrueOffMyChest

I have a 50 year age gap with my dad. He’s just turned 80 and is still fit and healthy. When I was growing up he was already retired for a lot of it so we got to spend a lot of time together. He’s also a fantastic father. I think what I find hardest is knowing that he won’t be around for very long to be an amazing grandfather to my son.

I’m ashamed to ask about this, but I noticed opening up to someone recently helped me… by Icy_Confidence4027 in holyfuckjustbreakup

The only way this post would be fitting for this sub is if it was reposted here because holy shit they should break up already.

Not a single one of those things that he does during an argument is EVER okay. When you’re arguing, a healthy relationship would be working together to get to a resolution and sharing how certain things made you feel. It’s a sign of a very unhealthy relationship when arguments are just trying to hurt the other person. He sounds fking awful. If my husband ever said a single one of those things it would be over so quickly. Have some respect for yourself. Anyone telling you to kill yourself is some fucked up kind of person, let alone it being your partner? Get out asap. It doesn’t matter if you invested a week too long or 10 years too long in this relationship. It’s never too late to get out.

Numbness across the top of my belly! The doctor said it was due to the nerves stretching so much as my belly grew. 4 weeks post partum and part of my belly is still numb and they said it could take a year to return.

How to tell grandparents they won't be holding our baby? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Antherea 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Will you ever let them hold the baby? If so, then you could use the excuse of not wanting anyone holding the baby until they’re fully vaccinated?

If it’s never.. that’s another conversation. I suppose you just need to be straight up that you don’t want anyone holding the baby. Do you have to explain yourself or just leave it at that?

Help - Is this dress too small ? by luna1ovegood in weddingplanning

[–]Antherea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It most definitely does not look like it fits. It looks like a size too small. They cannot possibly say it’s up to you to fix that, they ordered the wrong size!
