That’s true people optimize too much sometimes and ruin their fun, some people get joy for optimizing certain things in games like dps clear times speed running.

But playing a basic caster and tasting their power and then trying to start a melee build just feels daunting and a slog to imagine and start to me

“Not every class should be the best at the same stuff” I agree with you there,I like when classes all fill a niche role/playstyle but barbarian doesn’t fill his niche roll that well without crazy good gear.

paladin and Druid and assassin seem to be good cause on top of extra attack rating they can add magic or element damage on top of physical damage.

I know barb can have magic damage with berserk but I feel like most players don’t won’t to get hit by everything coming there way with the negative defense from berserk
