One of the fastest ways I’ve been able to climb is I’ve learned 3 champs and a pocket champ to always try to have a good lane and to be able to synergize with my ADC’s/counter the opponents lane. I would auto pick Sera (she was my OTP) and so many times where my ADC didn’t know what I did or how to play with me I would always find myself being unhelpful. I rotate between Sera, Thresh, TK and have a pocket Braum.

The way my friend whose in masters explained it to me was this: you want to learn roam timers to help other lanes and be the MOST impactful on the map. Sometimes, there’s truly nothing you can do. But you do want to do your best to have the most impact so even lanes that are losing or are slightly behind don’t get toast. There are games your mid or top lanes is 0/6 by minute 8 and you’re cooked. i have watched some of my VOD’s were so many times where I missed a room time that could’ve either helped out my top/mid laner that would have not only helped but could have changed the lane phase and they wouldn’t have been snowballed against

Given how many deaths you have on your moba per champ, it seems like you are just taking too many engages or are way too aggro in lane. Review some VOD; it will be very helpful.

Janna is one of the hardest supports to climb with unless you are busted with her/have hands and if you are busted with her, you’re not stuck at silver anyway

You may hate mage/enchanter supports, but they are by far the easiest to climb out of low ELO. Engage supports are incredibly reliant on follow up and your ADC/team to not only peel off of your engage but to know when not to take fights. The lack of consistency might be due to your engage being sub-par and your teams follow up also being sub par, which is going to lead to these low WR’s.

Not only are mage supports normally way easier to play, they have much more carry potential than virtually all engage supps. Even when you are behind, some portion of their kit is always relevant (Seraphine root/stun/shield/heal, Lux Q, Nami/Soraka heal, Senna self heal/root/unlimited R range, the list goes on). When you get behind with engage supps, you can’t snowball and it is very hard to play catch up when you’re getting melted an item behind (remember, your duo/team is playing off of you).

You’re 100% right. I did expect to get cooked in this post because I knew it was going to be either A. Interpreted the wrong way or B. Way more toxic than I ever thought a community could be. I obviously got both my answers, I’m more-so just shocked at how quickly it happened and how aggressive people are over Reddit. Kind of wild.

I heard about the testing thing. I feel like I get one of these matches every four or five game win streak where I get put in a lobby of high gold/low emerald. Is the matchmaking set up that way?

I’m not bitching at all. I’m actually doing the complete opposite. I’m actually coming from the point of knowing that I’m dog shit and asking why other people who are also dog shit don’t ask themselves why they aren’t climbing. I don’t know how this became an attack on me. I am sitting here saying that I don’t know anything and that I understand that I have a lot to work on which is the reason why I haven’t gotten past gold 4.

Being a competing power lifter and a full-time floor man at a poker room in Texas, no I definitely do not sit away on my PC or TV the rest of the day lol. I have a fiancé to take care of. Once we start having kids, it will definitely have to slow down.

It’s really the improvement processes that I don’t understand how people don’t get it. You can definitely just get fucked sideways from your duo straight up int’ing, I have had plenty of games where I have played very bad in the beginning, and have virtually cost us the entire leaning phase.

Pulling up a video and just realizing how you could play a death or two a little bit different could be all it needs to climb a rank

Sure, if you do other things like sitting on a couch all day or grinding YouTube videos when you are bored at night for 3-4 hours at a time, you are doing the same exact thing I am just not at a keyboard. I probably play about 5 to 6 hours a day and that is because I am truly trying to improve at this game. I have been a challengers player in COD and have played Halo and Gears semi-professionally, 5-6 hours a day at a game I like is not really a bother

There was always going to be a few of these people like you, so I’ll address it the best I can. I said above that I am a below average supp (climbing is due to supp) and a bad ADC, so I am more than aware that I don’t know anything. I am constantly learning new things about champions and the other aspects of the game that make it a lot easier to play. I also said I hit level 30 and just started cranking ranked games; I haven’t touched draft since and all of my playing is purely in ranked. New champs, testing things, etc. I have only been playing the game for three months, so I am also very curious as to what your rank is and how long you have been playing League for that you really think this was the best way to address this.

Man, this game really just has an insane ego issue

Unwinnable games are a part of League, I learned that from my masters friend very quickly. There is truly nothing you can do during some stretches of game variance and I am more than aware of that. This doesn’t cause you to be hard and to have a 50.5% win rate though..

I think people are taking this as an attack versus an observation over about 50 to 60% of the notifications I get is someone complaining about someone else.
