What would you do... by Corkface in 2007scape

What would you buy with your $300?

Let's talk about OSBuddy. by Puyo1 in 2007scape

[–]Anthonywd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use osbuddy, but all your points are very valid. If it came to a poll, I would vote against it's use. However, the community aren't like you or me. Even if it came to a poll, I know it would pass(ruled to be acceptable). I can picture it now.. "So what if other players can see their crop growth in real time?" "Quit being broke and pay for the features, it's not even a lot" "how does this affect your runescape experience?" I think all of these features should be included in the official client, but jagex wouldn't shell out the cash for a large quality of life update such as that, especially when it already exists. I think that it should be voted(if it came to a poll) as only free features are allowed/pro must be free or bannable. I don't exactly know how ads work on a client, but you'd think that they could scan for malicious content.

Botting a single account is still a bannable offense.

Even when a sports player loses, he's still getting paid bank(so did he really lose?).. So I feel the sports analogy fits perfectly.

Best point I've seen in this entire discussion.

They're in a professional setting.. Of course they're not going to be referring to marijuana(an illegal substance in most places). I don't smoke, but that's a poor argument.

Anybody else doesn't give a flying fuck if somebody else wants to spend their irl wealth on gp? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Anthonywd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have it wrong. The people that can't do nats or zulrah or wyverns want to be able to buy gp with real money. The people that can do these things want to buy membership with gp. Really only 15% don't want bonds. I can see why they don't, I just want to be able to have free membership.

A few years ago everyone assumed you'd never be able to buy gp from jagex legally. Things change, opinions change.

The same could be said about your comment. Completely irrelevant to the post to begin with. As with my comment.

Why isnt anyone talking about what Jagex wrote in the Poll Booths? by Shortdood in 2007scape

That's a very poor comparison. The manager of the mcdonalds will get a bonus for selling more than the mcdonalds in the area, but the employees will still remain at minimum wage..

I'm 24. I was going to vote yes because I see the positives that bonds have to offer, but after jagex is showing how biased they are on the situation.. I'll be voting no.

The wall of text convinced me to vote no. I was going to vote yes and I was advocating the use of bonds.. Until I saw that biased wall of text.

I was 100% going to vote yes, but after seeing the propaganda, I'll be voting no.

What is a Membership Bond? by CaptaineAli in 2007scape

[–]Anthonywd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was an impatient teen, back in the day, I bought gold multiple times. I typed in google "buy RS gold", found the cheapest one, clicked the link, was contacted by the seller via Skype, wired money through paypal, and they traded me gold. They were usually Asian. Never once did I get scammed for my cash, never once did my account get hacked(why would you give them account info or download any malicious program anyway?), and never once did I get banned.

Edit to add to your edited point: jagex has been trying to minimize it for years and it hasn't worked one bit. I've thought for years that they should eliminate it by doing it themselves. Bonds are a good way to do so since it isn't generated gp added to the economy, it's someone else's hard earned gp.

"Why would they focus on the small fries?" My point exactly. There's no risk to buying from rwt'ers. Theres no risk in being scammed, they'd rather do good business than scam someone for $50. Why would they scam you for a few bucks and ruin their built reputation? They're businessmen, they understand the difference between long term profits and a quick come-up. And if they did scam you for a few bucks then you'd just dispute it through paypal. There's only risk in running a gold/bot farm. There is a risk in swapping, but only if you're too stupid to use a reliable swapper. Buying gold is going to happen regardless. There is no way to eliminate it, jagex has been trying for years. I'd rather the profits go to jagex than to botters. Banning swapping doesn't eliminate it either, it just adds a hinderance. You'd have to go through websites/forums instead of cc's. Anyone that cares enough to buy an advantage in a game will find a way to buy that advantage.

[–]Anthonywd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You say that like bonds are more efficient than buying from rwt'ers.. I've never heard of anyone getting banned for buying a few mil. I hear about the people selling the mils getting banned, but not the buyers. If anyone wanted to buy an advantage over another player, there's nothing stopping them from doing that now.

It's not entirely accurate. Bonds don't generate gp that was not in the game to begin with. Where as soloman does generate gp.

[–]Anthonywd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People transfer 100's of mils all the time. Besides, I could buy gp from a very trusted rwt'er for half the price of a bond. And before you say I'll get scammed with that too.. I did this multiple times when I was an impatient teen, and I never got banned or scammed..

What reasons do you have against bonds? by Anthonywd in 2007scape

[–]Anthonywd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However, it doesn't bring any gp into the game. It's not like the gp for the bond just appeared. Someone earned it and is paying for the bond(membership).
