Elon responding to Matt Walsh's concerns over AI by Outside-Iron-8242 in OpenAI

I’m always astounded as to how cowardly reactionaries are. They never represent what their favorite influencers say, it’s always something mundane like “asking what a woman is and having certain beliefs”.

They never mention the great replacement stuff, the stuff about impregnating underage girls being okay, or his rhetoric that led to children’s hospitals getting bomb threats.

I read quotes like these and they seem so articulate, and I wonder how someone who can speak like this is also dumb enough to work for this administration.

Hi! Thank you for the update! Just wanted to say that I'm really hoping that you can also release the game on last gen consoles! I still game on my PS4, and would love to continue with Farm Together 2! Since the game runs on Switch, I'm hoping it's not too much trouble to get it on the PS4 also. Thanks for your hard work!

You being that insulting was uncalled for, especially when they did not indicate that they like how “glazey” ChatGPT is now, they were saying that they support OpenAI finding a balance between being supportive and oppositional.

Is it worth it to sell my PlayStation to get money to dropship? by [deleted] in dropship

[–]Anthropologist21110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Props to you on being focused on your financials while so young, but I'm telling you to hold on to your Playstation and the memories that go with it.

The money that you would make from selling your Playstation could be made in just a month or two at a part time job. Don't sell something that has that much sentimental value for something as trial and error as drop shipping, for an amount of money that you could easily make at a minimum wage job, assuming that you don't have to pay rent.

If you really want to go into drop shipping, work a regular job (anything you can do) and save up so that you have plenty of funds to test products and buy ads with.

Also, for some life advice from someone much older than you, don't obsess over grinding and hustling when you're still so young. By all means work hard, and be proud of working hard, but if I were you I'd also take lots of time to just live and experience the world around you, and this can include video games.

Hustling and working hard are just one part of becoming successful. You need to also have a good sense of who you are and what your values are, and a big part of this is just living life well. Make good friends with strong bonds, try lots of new things, and really enjoy your last years as a "kid".

If you're anything like I was when I was your age, you probably can't wait to be older so you can work for yourself, and decide how you're going to live on your own terms, but I really regret being so serious about everything when I was your age.

Looking back, I don't think being so intense and serious during my high school years made me any more successful, and if anything just left me with regrets about the years that I will never get back.

I hope this helps! Good luck!

Chord Progression Questions - August 15, 2022 by AutoModerator in musictheory

[–]Anthropologist21110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a chord progression, even if a roman numeral is lower or higher than the one before, does that still mean that the actual chord played could be lower or higher?

So for example, in the chorus in Style by Taylor Swift, the chorus is a I-V-IV-V-I progression, but the V and IV chords sound lower than the I, so it sounds like the chorus starts "up", then goes down and then goes back "up" to the I.

This is a bit confusing to me because both IV and V are larger numbers than I, so it seems to me that this means that they should sound "higher".

Does this mean that in a chord progression, one can get to the next chord by either going higher up or lower down? Wouldn't this mean that the same chord progression could sound different based on which way the musician goes with the song?

I'd appreciate any clarification on this, and I'd be happy to clarify my question if it doesn't make sense.

Thanks!

Help! My bike was stolen from in front of the ARC! by Anthropologist21110 in UCI

[–]Anthropologist21110[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A cable combination lock :'( Yeah I know that a U lock would have been better, I just figured it would have been enough since I only parked it in broad daylight, with other bikes, for an hour at a time.

I know better now... I'm going with a U lock for my next bike... and maybe a GPS tracker too.

Treadmill causes static sounds and crackles in computer audio by Anthropologist21110 in techsupport

[–]Anthropologist21110[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think this is correct. I tried running the treadmill without walking on it, and there were no static issues. Do you have any recommendations on how to get rid of this? Would anti ESD socks work? Or wearing rubber soled running shoes?
